Use the Ancient Relic Recycler in Palworld
Build and run the Ancient Relic Recycler in Palworld 1.0: what it costs, the Pal it needs, what relics turn into and where Holy Water fits.
The Ancient Relic Recycler is a World Tree base facility that turns Ancient Relics into crafting materials and rare upgrade items. This guide covers what it costs, how to run it, what comes out and what the sources do not agree on.
Checked against Palworld v1.0.5 (Pocketpair's latest patch notes, 15 September 2026), October 2026.
What the Recycler is for
Pocketpair's 1.0 notes introduce the Ancient Civilization Relic as an item that "can only be obtained in the new area, the World Tree", and say a special device converts it into items useful for crafting and enhancement. That device is the Recycler. The wiki describes it as a late-game production structure, and paldb.cc says it refines Ancient Relics into new forms.
paldb.cc names five grades of relic: Decayed, Dormant, Gorgeous, Glowing and Glistening. It lists relics among the World Tree expedition rewards and as drops from Pals in the World Tree area. The wiki does not break the relics out by grade, so treat the grade names as paldb.cc's. For the trip itself, see Gather World Tree resources in Palworld and Send Pals on expeditions in Palworld.
Unlock and build it
The wiki and paldb.cc agree on all of this:
- It unlocks at Technology level 74.
- It costs 50 Paloxite Ingot, 50 Mythical Wood, 30 Ancient Civilization Parts and 20 Ancient Civilization Core.
- It has 100,000 HP.
- It needs electricity, and both sites give its energy use as 800.
- The Pal working it needs Handiwork suitability at level 1 or higher.
The cost is steep for something you meet this late. Mythical Wood has its own guide, Farm Mythical Wood in Palworld, and the cores are covered in Get Ancient Civilization Cores in Palworld. The wiki says you can place as many Recyclers as you like.
Running it
- Build the Recycler in your base and connect power.
- Put Ancient Relics into it.
- Assign a Pal with Handiwork suitability. Pocketpair's 1.0 notes say Handiwork also repairs structures, so a good Handiwork Pal is useful at the base anyway. Palworld work suitability explained lists the best ones.
- Collect the results from the Recycler.
The wiki adds that you can feed World Tree Holy Water into the Recycler to speed it up, and paldb.cc lists Holy Water with the Recycler's items. Only the wiki gives a speed figure, so this guide quotes none. Where to get World Tree Holy Water in Palworld covers where it comes from.
What comes out
The wiki and paldb.cc both list these results: Paloxite, Mythical Wood, Ancient Civilization Core, Radiant Gems, Life Fruit, Stout Fruit, Skill Fruits, Disposable Implants, Training Manuals, Lotus, Little Kinship Peach and Pal Reverser. Both also list Applied Handbooks, the items that raise a Pal's work suitability.
paldb.cc is the only source with drop chances. It shows Mythical Wood and Paloxite coming out of every grade of relic, with the amounts rising as the grade does, and the Radiant Gems and the rare items as small chances. The wiki gives no rates, so this guide gives none either. The rare items are chance results, so expect to feed in a lot of relics.
Radiant Gems from the Recycler feed Awakening. How to awaken Pals in Palworld covers the crafting.
On your hosted server
The Recycler is a normal base structure, so no mod is needed. The World Settings tab has a Work speed slider in the Rates group, described as base-wide crafting and work speed. Settings are explained in Palworld server settings explained.
