Send Pals on Expeditions in Palworld
Build the Pal Expedition Station and send Pals out: the nine standard and eight Hard Mode expeditions, their tower unlocks, firepower and rewards.
Expeditions send a group of Pals out from your base to fight and bring back supplies while you do something else. This guide covers the station you need, how destinations unlock, and the nine standard and eight Hard Mode expeditions the wiki and paldb.cc agree on.
Checked against Palworld v1.0.5 (Pocketpair's latest patch notes, 15 September 2026; paldb.cc game data v1.0.5), October 2026.
What expeditions are
Pocketpair added expeditions in the v0.4.11 Feybreak update: you send Pals out from the Pal Expedition Station to obtain supplies. The wiki and paldb.cc agree that the dispatched Pals fight and gather items, then bring the resources back to your base. The wiki adds that Pals on an expedition cannot be on your team or working at a base until they return.
Pocketpair's 1.0 notes made several changes. The danger level of the destinations unlocked by clearing each Tower Boss in Hard mode became "Highest", with rewards rebalanced to match, and Sunreach and the World Tree became new destinations. 1.0 also added a notification when Pals return, an expedition exclusion setting button, and a Pal Box sort by Expedition Power.
Build the Pal Expedition Station
The wiki and paldb.cc agree on the station:
- It unlocks at level 22.
- It costs 10 Wooden Board, 100 Stone, 20 Paldium Fragment and 20 Cement.
- It has 4,000 HP.
Build it inside a base. A Pal on an expedition is not working at the base, so check Palworld work suitability explained before you send your best workers.
Unlock destinations
Each destination opens when you defeat a boss. paldb.cc names the tower for each one, and the wiki says harder bosses open rarer rewards and that beating a boss in Hard Mode opens a further, more focused expedition. Both sites show the same duration, recommended firepower and Pal requirement for each destination. Pocketpair's 1.0 notes call the firepower number Expedition Power, the wiki says "firepower" and paldb.cc says "Recommended Firepower".
Hard Mode expeditions
Both sources list eight Hard Mode expeditions. Every one takes 2 hours, has a recommended firepower of 1,600,000 and wants 20 Pals of one element. Following the tower order of the table above, from Rayne Syndicate to Azure Covenant, the elements are Neutral, Grass, Fire, Ground, Ice, Water, Dark and Dragon, and the names are Rayne Syndicate Smuggling Warehouse, Free Pal Alliance Illicit Trading Post, Eternal Pyre's Forbidden Market, PIDF Illegal Factory, PAL Genetic Research Laboratory, Moonflower's Secret Hideout, the Feybreak one and Sunreach Dragon Husk. The Feybreak one is Ancient Feybreak Remains on the wiki and Ancient Feybreak Ruins on paldb.cc.
paldb.cc also lists a ninth Hard Mode expedition, The World Tree's Forbidden Area. The wiki does not have it, so it is not in the count above.
What you bring back
Both sources list Pal Spheres, Ancient Pal Manuscripts, Pal Souls and Ancient Civilization Parts among the Normal rewards, and the wiki says Hard Mode rewards are more focused on one kind of item. Pocketpair's 1.0 notes name the Kinship Peach as one of the rebalanced rewards, and its 1.0.3 notes added World Tree Holy Water to the World Tree expedition rewards. For what that is worth, see Where to get World Tree Holy Water in Palworld. paldb.cc also lists Ancient Relics from the World Tree expedition, which you can feed to the Ancient Relic Recycler.
Pocketpair's 0.6.4 notes changed what a stronger team does: sending an overpowered team no longer shortens the trip, it increases the quantity of rewards. Sending a team under the recommended figure is the opposite case, and the wiki says it reduces rewards.
Item amounts and chances for each destination are on paldb.cc's Pal Expedition Station page. They run to many lines per destination, so this guide does not copy them.
