Farm Mythical Wood in Palworld

Get Mythical Wood from The World Tree trees with World Tree Holy Water, recycle Ancient Relics for more and see which structures need it.

Updated 3 min read

Mythical Wood is a rare material that several Ancient base structures need, and it comes from the zone around The World Tree. You cut it from the trees there, and once you have built the right machine you can recycle Ancient Relics for more. This guide covers both routes, what you need to bring, and where the World Tree Holy Water comes from.

Checked against Palworld v1.0.5 (Pocketpair's latest patch notes, 15 September 2026), October 2026.

Where Mythical Wood comes from

The wiki says it is "only found within The World Tree". paldb.cc describes it as "Rare wood imbued with the power of the World Tree" and lists the World Tree drop table among its sources. The wiki also says no merchant sells it, and that you cannot craft it. So there are two ways to get it: cut the trees in the World Tree area, and recycle Ancient Relics.

Cutting the trees

World Tree resources vanish when you walk up to them unless you are prepared. paldb.cc says World Tree Holy Water, once consumed, stops "World Tree resources" vanishing as you approach, for a period of time. The wiki agrees that harvesting trees in the World Tree needs World Tree Holy Water, and adds that a Pal with a World Tree passive in your party works as well.

So the routine is simple: drink the Holy Water, then chop the trees while its effect lasts. Pocketpair's v1.0.3 notes say the duration was extended and the item's weight was cut to 0.1, so it is cheap to carry in bulk.

Getting World Tree Holy Water

Several sources agree on where it comes from:

  • Teafant Spring. Pocketpair's v1.0.3 notes raise the amount you get here, and the wiki lists the springs in The World Tree.
  • World Tree expeditions. Pocketpair's v1.0.3 notes added it to the rewards, and the wiki lists the Subterranean City Ruins Expeditions as a source.
  • Pals in The World Tree area. Pocketpair's v1.0.3 notes raised the amount they drop, and paldb.cc lists many level 70 Pals there as drops.

Pocketpair's notes also add World Tree fishing and the Large Fishing Pond as rewards. The wiki lists Dandilord as a source too, but that is one source, so treat it as a lead.

Recycling Ancient Relics

Both the wiki and paldb.cc list the Ancient Relic Recycler as a source of Mythical Wood. paldb.cc shows that every grade of Ancient Relic gives some back, from Decayed up to Glistening.

There is a catch. Both sources say the recycler costs 50 Mythical Wood to build, so your first batch has to come from the trees.

What uses it

Both sources list the Ancient Farm, the Ancient Pal Bed, the Ancient Relic Recycler and the Skillfruit Orchard among the structures that need Mythical Wood. Amounts differ between the two sources' tables, so read the cost in the build menu before you cut.

Tip

Holy Water weighs 0.1 per item in Pocketpair's notes, so carry a good stack in before you start cutting.

On a hosted server

The World Tree is part of the normal world, so no mod is needed. Our World Settings tab has a Gathering rate slider in the Rates group, which Pocketpair's settings docs describe as "Gatherable items multiplier". The other keys are in Palworld server settings explained.
