Update your account name, email and avatar
Change your display name and avatar yourself from Account, and ask for an email change through a pre-filled ticket.
Your profile lives on the Account page of the dashboard. You can change your display name and your avatar yourself. Your email address is the login for both the dashboard and your server panels, and it's where receipts and renewal reminders go, so an email change goes through us.
Open your profile
- Log in and select Account in the dashboard menu.
- The Profile section is at the top, with three rows: Avatar, your display name and your email address. The menu on the page also jumps to Sign-in and security, Your data and Accessibility.
Change your display name
Your display name is the name shown on this dashboard and on your tickets.
- On the name row, select Edit.
- Type the new name into the Display name box.
- Select Save name. The button stays off until the name differs from the saved one, and a blank name is refused with "Name can't be empty."
The page confirms with "Display name updated." Select Cancel to leave the name as it was.
Change your avatar
Your avatar appears next to your name. You have two options on the Avatar row:
- Upload: choose your own picture. It can be a PNG, JPG or WEBP file up to 2 MB, and we crop it to a square. A file that's too large is refused with "Photo must be under 2 MB.", and other file types with "Only PNG, JPG, and WEBP files are allowed."
- Pick: choose one of our animated critters. Select a character in Pick an avatar, then select Use this avatar.
If you've uploaded a photo, a Remove button appears. It drops the photo and returns you to your default critter. Every account has an avatar, so removing a photo doesn't leave it blank. If you never choose one, you get a critter based on your email address.
Change your email address
The email row shows your address with a Request change button, because the address is your billing and panel login and isn't edited in place.
- Select Request change. It opens a new support ticket with the Account / Email category and the subject "Requesting email change" already filled in.
- Type the new address into the Message box and submit the ticket.
Contact support and open a ticket covers the ticket form and what happens after you submit it.
If you've just bought and mistyped your email, check the top of the dashboard first. Until the address is confirmed, a Confirm your email banner offers Wrong address? Change it, which lets you enter the right address and select Save yourself. You don't need a ticket for that.
