Reset or change your account password

Your Play Your Way password covers both the dashboard and every server panel, because they share one account. There are two routes. If you can't sign in, ask for a reset link by email. If you can sign in and just want a new password, change it from your Account page.

Reset a password you've forgotten

1. On the sign-in page, select Forgot password?.
2. Enter the email address you signed up with, complete the check under the box if one appears, and select Send reset link.
3. A Check your inbox screen confirms the request. The wording stays the same whether or not that address has an account: it says "If an account exists for" your address, a link is on its way.
4. Open the email and select the link. It takes you to Set a new password.
5. Enter a New password and type it again under Confirm password.
6. Select Update password. When it succeeds the page says "Password updated" and takes you to the sign-in page.

A reset signs you out of every device, so sign in again on each one with the new password. After a reset we also email you to confirm the password changed. If you didn't make the change, reset it again straight away and open a ticket. Contact support and open a ticket shows how.

If the email doesn't arrive

• Links usually land within a minute.
• Look in your spam or junk folder.
• Check the address is the one you signed up with. Select Use a different email to try another.

If the link says it's invalid or expired

The page says "This reset link is invalid or has expired." Select Request a new one, then use the link in the newest email.

Change your password while signed in

1. Open Account in the dashboard.
2. Under Sign-in and security, find the Password row and select Change password.
3. Enter your Current password, then a New password and the same again under Confirm new password.
4. Select Change password.

The page confirms "Password changed. Other sessions were signed out." This device stays signed in and every other device is signed out.

What makes a password acceptable

• At least 12 characters. That's the only strict rule. A long passphrase with no symbols is fine, and the strength meter beneath the box rates it from the length and from extras such as a capital letter, a number or a symbol.
• Not one from a known breach. We check new passwords against a list of breached ones. If yours has appeared in a data breach you'll see "This password has appeared in a known data breach" and need to pick another.

Common problems

• "Your current password is incorrect." The change form checks your current password first. If you've forgotten it, sign out and use the reset route above instead.
• Linking Discord doesn't let you sign in with it. Discord can pre-fill your email on the sign-in page, but you still need your password.
• You no longer have access to your email. Resetting needs the email on the account. Contact us and mention that it's an Account / Email request.
