Satisfactory creative mode and game modes
Turn on Creative Mode, once called Advanced Game Settings, on your Satisfactory server, and see what Game Modes such as cost multipliers change.
Satisfactory has two sets of options that change how a world plays: Creative Mode (the cheats) and Game Modes (rules for a new world, such as cost multipliers). Before version 1.2, Creative Mode was called Advanced Game Settings, and you'll still see the old name in older guides and in the server's own tools. This guide explains what each one does and how to turn them on for your Play Your Way server.
Creative Mode or Game Modes?
What Creative Mode includes
Gameplay: No Build Cost, Flight Mode, No Power, No Unlock Cost, Unlock Alternative Recipes Instantly, Keep Inventory, Give Items, God Mode and No Fuel.
Creatures: Disable Arachnid Creatures.
Progression: Set Game Phase, Unlock All Tiers, Unlock All Research in the MAM and Unlock All in the AWESOME Shop.
What Game Modes include
- Cost multipliers: Space Elevator deliveries from 0.25 to 100 times, recipe parts from 0.25 to 2 times, and power use from 0.25 to 5 times.
- World randomisation: how resource nodes are placed (Default, Random, Basic Resource Rich, Advanced Resource Rich or Fossil Fuel Rich) and how pure they are (from All Pure to All Impure, or Random).
- World seed: the game shows your world's seed so you can share it. The seed doesn't carry your other settings, so friends have to match those by hand.
Before you start
Turning on Creative Mode can't be undone for that save, and it switches off achievements for it. The game warns you first, but take a backup before you do it so you have a clean copy.
- Open the Backups tab and make a backup. How to create and restore backups shows how.
- Open the Saves tab and press Save now, so you have a save from before the change.
Turn on Creative Mode
On a dedicated server, the server admin turns Creative Mode on. Once it's on, every player in that world can use its settings, not only the admin.
- Make sure your world is running. If you have no world yet, start one in the Saves tab, or bring a save from your PC with World Import. Satisfactory worlds and saves covers both.
- In Satisfactory, open Server Manager, select your server and join your world. Enter the admin password from your dashboard's left rail when it asks.
- Open the pause menu with Esc and find the Creative Mode settings.
- Read the warning and confirm it.
- Switch on the settings you want. You can switch single settings on and off afterwards from the same menu.
What the Saves tab does
The Saves tab's New world starts a world with the game's default settings. It doesn't offer Creative Mode or Game Modes, so a world made there has neither. Turn Creative Mode on in the game afterwards, as above.
Game Modes can only be chosen when a world is created, and New world doesn't set them. For a world with cost multipliers or randomisation, start a new game in single player with the Game Modes you want, save it, then bring it to your server with World Import.
Loading a world that already has Creative Mode
Creative Mode stays on in a save once it's on. A PC save that has it keeps it when you bring it in with World Import, and so does any save you Load from the Saves tab: both load a Creative Mode save with Creative Mode on.
