Satisfactory console commands worth knowing
Open Satisfactory's in-game console, set a new key if yours won't open it, and use the commands worth knowing for FPS, graphics and getting unstuck.
Satisfactory has a console built into the game. It's handy for showing an FPS counter, capping your frame rate or widening your field of view. This guide shows how to open it, which commands are worth knowing, and what the console can't do on a dedicated server.
What the console is, and what it isn't
The in-game console runs on your own computer. The commands below change how the game looks and runs for you: graphics, frame rate and on-screen readouts. They change your own game, not your world or your server.
It isn't a cheat console either. Commands such as Fly, Ghost and God appear in its suggestions, but according to the Satisfactory wiki they have never worked in the game.
Creative options, such as building with no cost or flying, aren't console commands. They're the game's Creative Mode (called Advanced Game Settings before 1.2), covered in Satisfactory server settings.
Open the console
- Join your server, or load any world, so you're in the game.
- Press the §, ` (backtick) or ~ (tilde) key. A small command line opens.
- Press the same key again for the larger window.
- Type a command and press Enter.
- Press the key again to close the console.
Type a single space, without pressing Enter, to see a list of every command the game knows.
If the key doesn't work
The console only opens if your keyboard layout has one of those three keys, and some layouts don't. Switching Windows to the English (UK) layout can help. Or set a key of your own in the game's input file:
- Close the game.
- Open
%LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\Config\Windowsin File Explorer and openInput.ini. Older guides name aWindowsNoEditorfolder: that was before version 1.0. - Add these two lines at the bottom, then save:
[/Script/Engine.InputSettings]
ConsoleKeys=F6- Start the game and press F6.
Pick a single key that needs no Shift, Ctrl or Alt. If the game puts the file back the way it was, set it again and then tick Read-only in the file's Properties.
Useful commands
Type the command exactly as shown. Anything in square brackets is a number you choose.

What you can't do from the console on a server
Your Play Your Way Console tab shows your server's output in plain English, but the Satisfactory server takes no typed commands from it. Saving and the server's settings are done with the dashboard and the game's Server Manager instead:
- To save now, press Save now in the Saves tab. See Satisfactory worlds and saves.
- To change how often the world autosaves, or the server's other options, use the Server Settings tab. The same options are in the game's Server Manager, and a change in either place shows in the other.
- To start, stop or restart, use the dashboard's buttons.
A player's in-game console can't change any of these.
Troubleshooting
- The console doesn't open: check that your layout has §, **
** or **~**. If it doesn't, set a key inInput.ini`, as above. - A command does nothing: check the spelling. Commands are exact, and one wrong letter or dot means nothing happens.
- You wanted to change the server: use the Server Settings tab, not the console.
