Use Billy's Admin Sits (bAdminSits) on GMod

Billy's Admin Sits (bAdminSits) is a paid GmodStore addon for the moments when a staff member pulls a player aside to talk. It moves the people in a sit into their own space on the server, so the rest of the server can't see them and the player can't spawn things or take damage. This guide installs it from the GmodStore tab and walks through the commands and the sit room.

What you need first

• A GmodStore account that has bought Billy's Admin Sits.
• GmodAdminSuite, which the listing names as a requirement.
• The XEON DRM module: Install XEON DRM on a GMod server.
• A server with working inbound and outbound HTTP requests from Garry's Mod.

The listing says bAdminSits works with ULX, ServerGuard, D3A, xAdmin, SAM and other admin mods, and with GmodAdminSuite's secondary usergroups.

Install it

Install Billy's Logs (bLogs) on GMod shows how to connect your GmodStore account with an access token. Once you are connected:

1. Open the GmodStore tab, switch to Store, find Billy's Admin Sits and press Install.
2. Add the XEON module if the tab asks for it. In the File Manager, check that garrysmod/addons holds the bAdminSits folder and xeon-drm.
3. Restart the server from the Console tab.
4. Join the server and follow the on-screen instructions to activate your licence, then restart once more.

Set the sit room

Sits happen in one room on the map, and any number of sits can use it at the same time without seeing each other.

1. Build a room on your map and PermaProp it, as the listing suggests.
2. Stand where sits should happen and type !sitpos in chat to set the sit position and angle.
3. Repeat on every map you use. The position is tied to the current map. If a map has no sit position, a sit starts where the staff member is standing.

Chat commands

• !sit creates a sit, adds or removes players, invites staff and ends a sit. Typing it on its own in chat shows how the rest works.
• !resit recreates the sit you just ended.
• !sits lists the sits running now. If you have the right permission, you can join one from the list.
• !sitpos sets the sit position, as above.

The physgun works as a control too: reload adds players to a sit or removes them. If you don't have permission to add staff by force, you can send them an invite instead, and an invite expires after 30 seconds.

What a sit does

The sit menu shows each player's status (online, AFK or tabbed out, or timing out), whether they are staff, their operating system and country, and whether they are talking on voice chat. If a player is tabbed out of Garry's Mod, adding them to a sit flashes their taskbar.

Inside a sit, players can't use the toolgun, spawn props, NPCs or vehicles, pick things up, use or switch weapons, take damage, switch teams, or see chat and hear voice from the rest of the server (the listing adds that hiding chat "might not work 100% on DarkRP"). The listing says a player who dies in a sit is respawned and teleported straight back to it, and that the addon is aware of disconnects and reconnects, so a disconnect doesn't get a player out of a sit. DarkRP actions such as arresting, changing jobs and buying are blocked too. You can create a Staff on Duty job that staff are moved to for the length of a sit.

The listing also says the addon includes a Lua API for developers.

Common problems

1. The Installed view shows a Needs XEON DRM badge. Add the module and restart.
2. Sits start in the wrong place. No sit position is set for the map, so run !sitpos in the room.
3. A staff member can't be added. Without permission to add staff by force, send them an invite. It expires after 30 seconds.
