Unique Breeding Combinations in Palworld
All 80 unique parent pairs and 22 same-species rules that the wiki and paldb.cc agree on, and how to check a pair in the Breeding tab.
Most Palworld babies come from a rank formula, but a set of Pals can only be bred from one exact pair of parents. This guide lists the 80 unique parent pairs and 22 same-species rules that the wiki and paldb.cc agree on, and says which entries were left out.
Checked against Palworld v1.0.5 (Pocketpair's latest patch notes, 15 September 2026; paldb.cc game data v1.0.5), October 2026.
How unique combinations work
For most pairs the baby follows a hidden breeding rank, and the child is the eligible Pal nearest the parents' ranks. A unique combination skips that. If you breed the exact pair in the table, you get the listed baby, and no other pair makes it. The wiki says species in the unique list skip the formula, and paldb.cc lists them under "Breed Unique". Pocketpair's 1.0 notes describe Mutation, a small chance of a stronger Pal than the normal result, which sits on top of all this. See How to breed mutated Pals in Palworld.
Breeding itself needs a Breeding Farm with one male and one female Pal and a cake in the facility. The wiki and paldb.cc agree on that, and the mutation guide covers the farm in detail.
Check a pair on your server
Open the Breeding tab on your Palworld server. Pick parents takes two parents and shows the baby, and Pick a baby lists the parent pairs for the Pal you want. A pair that only works as a unique combination carries a Unique badge, and the Pick a baby results have a "Unique combos (the only way)" group. The tab's data is Palworld v1.0.4 game data from paldb.cc, checked on 14 September 2026, so a patch since then can shift the ordinary pairings.
Subspecies and special pairs
Each row is one baby and its parents. Order does not matter, except for the Katress and Wixen rows, where the female parent decides the result.
One more pair is on both lists and is not a subspecies: Gildane and Eikthyrdeer Terra make a Celesdir.
Same-species rules
The wiki and paldb.cc list these 22 Pals under same-species breeding, where the baby comes from two parents of that same species: Blazamut Ryu, Mimog, Xenovader, Xenogard, Grizzbolt, Lyleen, Orserk, Faleris, Shadowbeak, Selyne, Bastigor, Shaolong, Silvance, Dandilord, Bellanoir Libero, Xenolord, Hartalis, Paladius, Necromus, Frostallion, Neptilius, Jetragon.
For these Pals, the farm needs two of the same species, one male and one female. If you only hold one, capture or hatch another before you plan the rest.
What was left out
paldb.cc lists 56 more unique rows than the wiki carries, and the wiki has none that paldb.cc lacks. They are 55 pairs for the Terraria collab Pals (the slimes, bats, Enchanted Sword, Demon Eye and Eye of Cthulhu) and a Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero pair. paldb.cc also lists Green Slime, Cave Bat, Panthalus and Astralym as same-species rules. With only one source behind them, none of these are in the tables above. The Breeding tab uses paldb.cc's data, so it will show the Terraria Pals. For the Terraria side, see Terraria crossover content in Palworld.
