Where to Get a Xenogard in Palworld

Where the wiki says Xenogard appears, how the Meteorite Event works, what the databases agree on and how to breed more once you own one.

Updated 3 min read

Xenogard is the Dragon-type alien Pal at number 146 in the Palpedia. The community wiki says it does not roam the open world the way most Pals do. This guide sets out the places that wiki says it can appear, what the wiki and paldb.cc agree on, and how breeding gives you more once you own one.

Checked against Palworld v1.0.5 (Pocketpair's latest patch notes, 15 September 2026), October 2026.

What Xenogard is

The wiki and paldb.cc agree on the basics. Xenogard is a Dragon-type Pal and its only work suitability is Mining at level 4. Its partner skill is Unknown Intruder: while it is in your party, your energy weapon damage goes up, and the bonus does not stack with itself. It hatches from a Huge Dragon Egg.

Where it appears

The wiki says Xenogard "can only spawn in the world as an Alpha during a Meteorite Event". It names Mount Obsidian, the Desiccated Dunes and the Astral Mountains as example places, and adds that there is no Alpha Xenogard boss in the overworld. The wiki's Meteorite Event page lists Xenogard for the Volcano, Desert and Snow areas, next to Selyne and Xenovader.

The wiki gives a second route. Xenogard "can also be one of the summoned Pals from PAL Genetic Research Unit enemies in one of their Faction Bases". Both routes come from the wiki alone, because paldb.cc does not describe the event, so treat the places as leads and not as a fixed spawn point.

How the Meteorite Event works

The wiki describes the event as random. Meteorites fall around the Palpagos Islands, but not in starter zones or Wildlife Sanctuaries, and each one lands at a set point.

The wiki also says drops happen once every 3 hours by default, or once per the number of minutes set in the world settings. Pocketpair's own settings docs describe the SupplyDropSpan key as "Meteorite / supply drop interval (minutes)". Our World Settings tab shows it as Supply drop interval (minutes), and the panel default is 180 minutes, which matches the wiki's 3 hours. The other keys are in Palworld server settings explained.

Breeding a Xenogard

Once you own a Xenogard you do not depend on the event again. The wiki lists a unique combination of Xenogard and Xenogard that produces a Xenogard, and paldb.cc shows the same one. Our Breeding tab is a calculator that works out the baby for any two parents you pick, which is handy for checking a pairing before you commit to it.

Tip

paldb.cc lists the attacks of a regular Xenogard as mostly Dragon, plus Ice and Neutral moves. Bring Pals that cope with both before you chase an Alpha.

Common problems

  • No meteorite where you looked: the wiki says the event is random, so keep exploring the listed areas and check back later.
  • Not sure it is a Xenogard: it is the Pal at number 146 in your Palpedia.
  • Server owners: the event follows the world's own rules, and the World Settings tab does not list a dedicated meteorite switch.
