Use the Mixing Table in Rust
How to get and use the Rust mixing table: what it costs to craft, berry tea recipes, upgrading teas to Advanced and Pure, and explosives.
The mixing table is a Rust deployable that combines items into new ones. Its main job is turning berries into teas that give temporary boosts, and it can also make explosives. This guide covers how to get one, how the ingredient slots work, the basic tea recipes, how teas are upgraded to Advanced and Pure, and how an admin can hand one out on a server.
Checked against Facepunch's notes and the wiki, October 2026, for server build 2635. Facepunch introduced the table in its 6 August 2020 devblog, and the recipes below are the ones the Facepunch wiki agrees on with the Rustafied and Corrosion Hour guides. Recipes are tweaked now and then, so check the in-game recipe list if a mix will not start.
What it does
Facepunch's devblog describes the mixing table as "a new deployable that lets you mix items together to create new items", used mainly to mix berry recipes into teas, and it can also create explosives. Teas grant boosts that last for a limited time, and each tea comes in three tiers: Basic, Advanced and Pure. Each tier has a stronger effect than the one before.
Get a mixing table
Craft it at a Level 1 workbench for 200 Metal Fragments and 100 Stones. It can also be bought at the Bandit Camp. The server does not need any plugin for it, it is part of the base game.
Berries
Berries are the main ingredient. Facepunch says the berry plants can be found in the wild or grown through the farming system. The Facepunch wiki lists the colours used in recipes as red, green, white, blue and yellow.
How mixing works
Open the table and you see the recipes and the slots where ingredients go. Facepunch's note is that ingredients "must be placed in the correct order and quantities that match the chosen recipe".
Basic tea recipes
These six are the same on all three sources. Put the berries in the slots in this order:
The Facepunch wiki's Mixing Table page lists further teas, such as Cooling, Warming, Harvesting and Crafting Quality, and every recipe the table knows.
Upgrade a tea
To move up a tier, mix four teas of the tier below. Four Basic Ore Teas make one Advanced Ore Tea, and four Advanced Ore Teas make one Pure Ore Tea. The same rule applies to each tea line.
Explosives
The table can also make Explosives from 50 Gun Powder, 3 Low Grade Fuel, 10 Sulfur and 10 Metal Fragments, which gives 1 Explosives. This is the quantity the Facepunch wiki and Rustafied agree on. Rustafied and Corrosion Hour both add that you must have learned the Explosives blueprint first.
Give yourself a table on your server
If you want a mixing table for testing, the item's short name is mixingtable and its item ID is 1259919256, per the Facepunch wiki and the Rust Help wiki. The game's own listing gives the command as inventory.giveto {item} {player} {amount} {skin}, so an example is inventory.giveto mixingtable <player> 1. How to give yourself items on your Rust server explains the three give commands and their limits.
