Set up a Craft to Exile Dissonance server

Install Craft to Exile: Dissonance on Forge 1.15.2 from the Modpacks tab using its CurseForge server files, then start the server and fix common problems.

Updated 3 min read

Craft to Exile: Dissonance is a Forge modpack for Minecraft 1.15.2 that turns the game into an action RPG, built around the Mine and Slash mod, which draws on Diablo II and Path of Exile. Its progression is more linear than its sister pack, Harmony, and it adds MineColonies, tech mods and a quest log. The pack's author publishes ready-to-run server files, and the Modpacks tab installs them for you.

Checked against Craft to Exile: Dissonance 3.1.9 on Forge 1.15.2-31.2.57, October 2026.

What the pack needs

  • Minecraft 1.15.2 with Forge 31.2.57. The server files include that Forge jar and its libraries. 1.15.2 runs on Java 8, and the panel sets the Java version from the pack's Minecraft version, so there is nothing to choose.
  • Memory. The server files include a Windows start script that gives the server 4 GB, so treat that as the starting point. Your plan sets the RAM, and how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and the Minecraft plans cover the choices. The author says the sister pack, Harmony, is much lighter on CPU.
  • Disk space. The server files are a download of about 390 MB, and they unpack to more.
  • The same pack for every player. Each player installs 3.1.9 from the pack's CurseForge page or the CurseForge app.

Install the pack

  1. Open your server and choose Modpacks under Content in the left rail.
  2. In the source chip row at the top of the tab, press CurseForge and search for Craft to Exile.
  3. Press Install on Craft to Exile [Dissonance], not Harmony or Craft to Exile 2. The popup should read Forge, Minecraft 1.15.2.
  4. Keep Take a backup first ticked, because the install clears your server's files. Tick Start the server when it's ready if you want it to start by itself.
  5. Press Install and reinstall. It takes a few minutes.

Once the install finishes, the Modpacks tab shows the pack as installed, with a Remove modpack button. The tab notes that a modpack isn't permanent and can be removed any time to go back to a normal server.

The pack's own start server.bat is a Windows script, so the panel does not use it. It writes a launch script of its own for the pack's Forge jar and sizes the memory from your plan.

First start

Press Start on the Console tab and accept the Minecraft EULA if the panel asks. When the console prints a line ending in For help, type "help", the server is up. Your address is in the left rail under Server address. Connect to your server for the first time shows how to add it in Minecraft.

Common problems

  • Mod mismatch on join. The player's pack version differs from the server's. Both need 3.1.9.
  • The server lags with a few players. Watch the RAM card on the Console tab before you change anything else.
  • The install stops while unpacking. Your plan's disk may be too small. Check Disk Analyser, free some space and install again.
  • Server files from GitHub. The pack's server repository tells you not to download its build, and to use the CurseForge page instead. The Modpacks tab installs the CurseForge files.
