Install Macaw's Bridges on your server
Install Macaw's Bridges 3.1.2 on a NeoForge 26.3 server, pick the right loader file and learn the Pliers, torches and lanterns it adds.
Macaw's Bridges adds bridges to build with: log, rope, brick and iron bridges, bridge stairs, supports and piers, plus a few items to finish them. Its jar describes itself as "Bridges, rail bridges, rope bridges and more", and its language file lists building blocks and a few items, with no mobs. Modrinth lists it as required on both the client and the server.
Checked against Macaw's Bridges 3.1.2 on NeoForge 26.3, October 2026.
What you need
- A loader and version that has a build. Version 3.1.2 has separate files for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge on Minecraft 26.3, and the same three for 26.2. This guide used NeoForge 26.3, whose jar declares no other mods it needs.
- Fabric API on a Fabric server. The Fabric build asks for it, and Modrinth lists it as required.
- The same mod on every player's game, for the same loader and Minecraft version.
Switch the server to NeoForge 26.3
- Open JAR Manager, under More in the left rail.
- Set Server software to NeoForge and Minecraft version to 26.3, then press Apply change.
- Leave Take a backup first ticked, press and hold Confirm & reinstall, and wait for the console to finish.
The panel picks Java 25 for 26.x. Your world is kept, but configuration files may be reset, so Change your Minecraft version or mod loader is worth a read first.
Install it
- Open the Mods tab under Content and keep the Modrinth chip selected.
- Search for Macaw's Bridges and press Install. The Game version filter starts on your server's version and the Loader filter on its loader.
- Go to Console, press Start and accept the EULA prompt the first time.
- Open the Installed view and check that the mod has no Failed to load badge.
If you would rather upload the jar, download the file for your loader from the project's Modrinth page, put it in the mods folder with the File Manager or SFTP, and restart. Connect to your server over SFTP has the details.
Try it in game
Bridge blocks are in the creative inventory, and in survival the project keeps its crafting recipes as pictures on its GitHub wiki, linked from its Modrinth page. A few details come straight from the mod's own text:
- Pliers are crafted from two iron ingots and three iron nuggets. Their tooltip says to right-click a bridge to make an entrance, which works only on bridges two or more blocks wide.
- A bridge's tooltip says to use Pliers or Shears to adjust the entrance.
- Bridge Torch and Bridge Lantern are the light items. Their tooltip says to use them on bridge and stair handrails.
As an operator, /give @s mcwbridges:pliers hands you the Pliers, which is a quick way to confirm the mod loaded.
Common problems
- The server stops and names
fabric-api. You installed the Fabric build. Add Fabric API from the Mods tab, or move to a NeoForge server and the NeoForge file. - Players are refused. Their game must have the same mod for the same loader and Minecraft version. Join a modded server from your launcher covers the player side.
- No results for your version. There is no build for it. Change the version in JAR Manager.
- Other load errors. Fix Minecraft mod and plugin load errors shows how to read the log.
