Install Decocraft on your server
Install Decocraft 3.0.11 on a NeoForge 1.21.1 server from Modrinth, because its CurseForge listing refuses panel installs.
Decocraft adds over 3000 decorative blocks and items, including furniture, lighting and animated pieces, along with a crafting bench to make them. The jar is large, and the CurseForge listing will not install it from the panel, so the source you pick matters. Players need the same mod in their own game.
Checked against Decocraft 3.0.11 on NeoForge 1.21.1, October 2026. Decocraft 3.0.9 covers NeoForge and Fabric 1.21.11, 3.0.9 covers Fabric 1.21.1, and 3.0.4 covers Forge 1.20.1.
What it needs
Decocraft has NeoForge, Fabric and Forge builds, listed on Modrinth. As a mod it can't run on Paper or Purpur. The NeoForge 1.21.1 jar needs NeoForge 21.1 or newer and runs on Java 21, which the panel selects for you. The 3.0.11 file is about 93 MB. The NeoForge build lists no other mods as required.
Open Content in the panel menu and look for Mods. If the tab says Plugins or is missing, open JAR Manager under More, choose NeoForge under Server software, pick 1.21.1 as the Minecraft version and press Apply change. Leave Take a backup first ticked and confirm with Confirm & reinstall. Change your Minecraft version or mod loader has the full steps.
Install from Modrinth
- Open Mods, keep the Store view and the Modrinth chip selected in the source chip row at the top of the tab. The Game version filter starts on your server's version.
- Search for
Decocraftand press Install on the result named exactly Decocraft. DecoNature is a separate mod by the same author. - Restart from the Console tab. The install message says "Restart the server to load it".
Open the Installed view to check. Decocraft should be listed with no Failed to load badge.
If you choose the CurseForge chip instead, the install is refused. Its author only allows downloads through CurseForge's own app, and the panel says "Download it there and upload it in Files." Use Modrinth, or upload the jar by hand from the Modrinth file page into the mods folder with File Manager or SFTP.
Players need the same mod
Modrinth marks Decocraft as required on both the client and the server. Each player installs the same Decocraft build through their launcher, on the same loader and Minecraft version. The author's FAQ asks players to give Minecraft at least 4 GB of RAM, since the game can load slowly or crash otherwise. Join a modded server from your launcher covers it, and Fix the mismatched mod channel list error explains the usual refusal when lists differ.
First run
According to its Modrinth page, the Decobench is where decorations are crafted, the Decomposer makes the Raw Material used in crafting, and the Decobrush changes the colour of many decorations. Raw Material is made from dirt, logs or cobblestone with coal or charcoal as fuel.
Updating
Click Check for updates in the Installed view and restart afterwards. Each build is around 90 MB, so give the download a minute.
Common problems
- The Modrinth results are empty: Decocraft has builds for 1.17.1 and newer up to 1.21.11, but not every patch version, and none for the 26.x versions. Check the version list on its Modrinth page against your server.
- The server stops at startup: open Console and read the last lines, then look in the Installed view for a Needs badge. Fix mod and plugin errors on Minecraft covers reading the log.
- Slow ticks: Why is my server lagging? Find the cause lists the usual causes.
