Get Legendary Treasure Maps in Palworld

A Legendary Treasure Map is the top grade of treasure map in Palworld, and it points to a buried reward with rewards such as rare schematics. You cannot buy one, so you have to take it from the world. This guide covers where Legendary maps come from, what you need for the sea route, and how to use one once you hold it.

What a treasure map does

The wiki says Treasure Maps come in grades from Common up to Legendary, and that higher grades give better rewards. paldb.cc says the same about the item: using it places a marker on your map. The wiki adds that the marker also shows on the compass, and that you dig up the treasure where it points without any special tool.

The reward is random. Both the wiki and paldb.cc show schematics among the prizes. Pocketpair's 1.0 notes also mention fixing a problem where treasure map icons and pillars disappeared after restarting the game.

Where Legendary maps come from

Two sources agree on two routes.

Enemy bases. The wiki says maps are "primarily obtained from loot chests found in enemy faction bases", and that you cannot buy them or craft them. paldb.cc lists the final chests of named enemy bases as the sources of the Legendary grade, including two sea bases at Sakurajima and Yamijima, a base at Sunreach and a second Sakurajima base. Pocketpair's 1.0 notes say enemy bases were added at sea, so this fits. Only paldb.cc names those bases, and we are not quoting its percentages.

Advanced salvaging. The wiki says Advanced Salvage Spots in the waters around the Astral Mountains, Sakurajima and Feybreak can give legendary Treasure Maps. paldb.cc's advanced salvage table includes a Legendary map as well, at a very low chance.

Advanced salvaging in short

1. Equip a fishing rod.
2. Ride a Water-element Pal.
3. Carry a Powerful Fishing Magnet. Both the wiki and paldb.cc say each successful advanced salvage uses one.
4. Find an advanced spot and play the minigame.

Using the map

Use the map from your inventory, check the new marker on your world map, and travel there. If you cannot reach it quickly, fast travel can get you part of the way.

On a hosted server
