Fish at the World Tree in Palworld
What Pocketpair says about the World Tree fishing spots, the Pals that help, what the wiki lists as the catch and the server fishing options, v1.0.5.
Palworld 1.0 added new high-difficulty fishing spots at the World Tree, and they sit at the top of the fishing difficulty ladder. This guide covers what Pocketpair says about them, which Pals help, what the wiki lists as the catch and which settings on your server change the fishing minigame.
Checked against Palworld v1.0.5 (Pocketpair's latest patch notes, 15 September 2026), October 2026.
What Pocketpair says about these spots
The 1.0 notes say "New high-difficulty fishing spots have been added to Sunreach and the World Tree", and tell you to bring Pals that can assist with fishing. A few related changes in the same notes:
- The old Expert Fishing Spot was renamed Master Fishing Spot. The Expert name now belongs to a new spot one tier harder.
- The chance of catching Alpha Pals from fishing ponds went up.
- Fishing bait can now come from raid rewards, treasure chests, salvage and scrap, and merchants sell it.
- Simple Bait crafting unlocks when you unlock the Intermediate or Advanced Fishing Rod through Technology.
Pocketpair's 1.0.3 notes added World Tree Holy Water to the rewards for World Tree fishing, and the 1.0.4 notes adjusted fishing difficulty at the spots in Sunreach and the World Tree area and changed how many items each type of bait returns.
Pals that help
Pocketpair's 1.0 notes give a fishing build, and paldb.cc describes the same three Pals:
- Jelliette in your party increases the items you get from fishing.
- Gloopie in your party makes the minigame less likely to fail.
- Whalaska in your party starts the minigame with a higher capture gauge.
What can be caught
The wiki lists the World Tree spot with these Pals: Gloopie Primo, Solmora Lux, Whalaska Ignis and Skutlass Ignis, and says Skutlass Ignis appears only in the Gilded City. That is one source, so treat the list as a guide rather than a guarantee. paldb.cc also lists World Tree fishing among the places Ancient Civilization Cores can turn up, but gives different rates for each spot, so this guide quotes none.
Neither the wiki nor paldb.cc says which rod the World Tree spot needs. The Advanced Fishing Rod (Depresso) is the strongest rod the wiki lists, and Get the Depresso fishing rod in Palworld covers how to earn it.
Bring Jelliette, Gloopie and Whalaska together if you have all three. The notes describe them as one build for raising success rates and reward amounts.
On your hosted server
The fishing spots are part of the base game, so nothing needs installing. The World Settings tab does not have a fishing row. The FishingDifficultyRate key and Pocketpair's new 1.0.4 option for fish behaviour in the minigame are covered in Palworld world options the Settings tab does not show.
