Where to Get Radiant Gems in Palworld
Where Radiant Gems come from in the World Tree, which sources agree, and how 50 of them plus Holy Water make an Awakening Crystal in 1.0.5.
Radiant Gems are the material behind Pal Awakening, the 1.0 mechanic that permanently strengthens a Pal. There is one gem for each of nine elements, and you collect them in the World Tree area. This guide covers where they come from, what they turn into and what else you need.
Checked against Palworld v1.0.5 (Pocketpair's latest patch notes, 15 September 2026), October 2026.
What Radiant Gems are
The wiki says Radiant Gems "are items used to craft Awakening Crystals to awaken Pals". The item text on the wiki and paldb.cc reads the same: a gem formed as World Tree energy accumulates within a Pal's body. Both list nine kinds: Dark, Dragon, Electric, Fire, Grass, Ground, Ice, Neutral and Water.
Where to get them
Pocketpair's 1.0 notes say that in the World Tree, a new area, you "gather Radiant Gems hidden in its depths". A later fix in the 1.0.4 notes mentions "Radiant Gems dropped by wild Pals in the World Tree area", so wild Pals there are a drop source.
paldb.cc adds detail that the wiki does not confirm, so treat it as one source:
- Pals with the World Tree passives spawn at certain spots in the World Tree and drop the gems.
- Its gem pages also list World Tree expedition rewards, World Tree chests and World Tree fishing as sources.
The wiki and paldb.cc both name Dandilord as a drop source for the Dark Radiant Gem, and the wiki says that gem cannot be bought from a merchant or crafted. We have not found two sources that agree on drop rates for the others, so this guide quotes none. Open the page for the element you need on the wiki or paldb.cc to see its current list.
What you do with them
The wiki and paldb.cc agree on the recipe for the Awakening Crystal of an element: 50 Radiant Gems of that element plus 10 World Tree Holy Water, made at the Ancient Workbench. Both list a separate crystal for each of the nine elements. The use of the finished crystal is in How to awaken Pals in Palworld.
World Tree Holy Water has its own sources. Pocketpair's 1.0.3 notes say it was added to the rewards for World Tree expeditions, World Tree fishing and the Large Fishing Pond, and that more of it drops from Pals in the World Tree area and from Teafant Spring.
Fifty gems per crystal adds up quickly. Work out which element your best Pals are before you start, so you farm one kind of gem and not nine.
On a hosted server
Radiant Gems are part of the base game, so your server needs no mod. The World Settings tab has no setting for gem drops. It does have Enemy loot rate, which Pocketpair's server settings page describes as a "dropped item quantity multiplier". Other rates are in Palworld server settings explained.
