Terraria Dead Cells Crossover Guide
Every Dead Cells item in Terraria 1.4.5, from Flint and the Barrel Launcher to the Ram Rune, with where each one comes from.
Terraria's 1.4.5 update, Bigger and Boulder, brought in content from Dead Cells, the action platformer by the French studio Motion Twin. This guide lists every Dead Cells item in the game and, going by the official wiki, where each one comes from.
Checked against Terraria 1.4.5.8 on PC, October 2026.
What the crossover added
Re-Logic's 1.4.5 notes describe the Dead Cells content as five new weapons, a buff station, a vanity set, an accessory, a loyal pet and a new way to display your items in the world. The wiki's crossover list names ten items to match: the five weapons, the Alchemy Flask, The Beheaded's set, the Ram Rune, the Swarm Grenade and the Item Flask. It is all part of the base game, with no mod needed.
The five weapons
Re-Logic's notes describe the content by type. The item descriptions and sources below come from the official Terraria wiki's page for each item.
- Flint: a Hardmode melee weapon. You charge it by holding attack, then release for a swing, and a longer charge adds a fire wave. The wiki gives a recipe at an Adamantite or Titanium Forge.
- Barrel Launcher: a Hardmode ranged weapon that needs no ammo. It fires barrels that bounce, then explode. The wiki lists it as a drop during the Pirate Invasion.
- Killing Deck: a Hardmode magic weapon that throws cards that stick, then return. The wiki says the Wizard sells it during a Blood Moon.
- Mushroom Staff: a pre-Hardmode summon weapon that calls a Mushroom Boi, which runs, jumps and explodes on enemies. The wiki gives recipes that use Glowing Mushrooms and Mushroom Grass Seeds, plus a Shadow Scale or a Tissue Sample.
- Barnacle Staff: a Hardmode sentry that fires poison. The wiki lists it as a rare fishing drop in the Hardmode Jungle. The 1.4.5.7 hotfix notes list "Increased drop rate significantly" for it, so it is easier to find than it was at launch.
The accessory, pet and furniture
- Ram Rune: an accessory that lets you hold Down and press Jump in mid-air to ground pound. The wiki lists it in Dungeon Locked Gold Chests and in Golden Lock Boxes.
- Swarm Grenade: a pet item that summons a Swarm Biter, which follows you. The wiki says the Zoologist sells it during a Party.
- Alchemy Flask: a crafting station for potions. Using it gives a buff that lengthens some potion effects. The wiki's source for it is throwing an Alchemy Table into Shimmer.
- Item Flask: placeable furniture that displays a held item in a liquid that matches the item's rarity colour. The wiki gives a Furnace recipe.
The Beheaded's set
The Beheaded's set is a vanity set with a Head, a Cuirass and Trousers. The wiki gives a recipe for each piece. The Cuirass and Trousers use Ancient Cloth at a Loom. The Head uses Soul of Night and a Shadow Candle, plus Rotten Chunks at a Demon Altar or Vertebrae at a Crimson Altar.
The wiki page for each item lists the full recipe or the current drop chance. Check it before you start a long grind, since Re-Logic tunes drop rates in hotfixes.
Getting these items on your server
Everything above is part of the base game, so there is nothing to install. To start a fresh world for a run, use the Worlds tab and New world, as in Terraria getting started. The Palworld half of the same update is in Terraria Palworld crossover items.
