FTB Essentials homes and warps on Minecraft
Install FTB Essentials on a NeoForge, Fabric or Forge server, then use homes, warps and teleport requests and change their limits and cooldowns.
FTB Essentials adds the everyday server commands to a modded Minecraft server: /sethome and /home, warps that an operator sets for everyone, /tpa teleport requests, /back and /rtp. It runs on mod loaders only. On a Paper or Purpur server use EssentialsX instead, covered in Set up EssentialsX on your Minecraft server.
Checked against FTB Essentials 26.1.2.5 on NeoForge 26.1.2, October 2026. The project lists the same build for Fabric, which we did not run.
Which build fits your server
FTB Essentials is published on CurseForge. Its release builds cover these loaders and Minecraft versions:
On 26.1 builds the mod needs FTB Library, and on Fabric also Fabric API. On the 1.21.1, 1.20.4 and 1.20.1 builds, FTB Library in turn needs Architectury API on every loader, and the Fabric builds list it too.
Install it
- Check the loader and version in the JAR Manager tab, under More in the panel menu. Change Minecraft server version or loader covers switching.
- Open Mods, under Content. Pick the CurseForge button above the results.
- Search
FTB Essentials. The Game version and Loader filters start on your server's values. - Click Install. If a prompt says the mod needs more add-ons, click Install all. If FTB Library is not in the list, search
FTB Libraryand install it too. - Open Console and click Restart, or Start if the server is stopped.
If Install says there is no build for your Minecraft version, FTB has not published one. Do not force an Any version build onto a mismatched server. On a new server, pick a listed version in the JAR Manager first. On a server with a world you care about, do not go back to an older Minecraft, because loading a world in an older version can cause corruption, data loss or a crash.
Homes, warps and teleports
Players can run all of these except the two warp commands that change warps, which are for operators. Make someone an operator from the Players tab, using Operators and Make operator.
A /tpa request reaches the other player as a chat line with Accept and Deny buttons to click.
Change the limits
Stop the server, then open config/ftbessentials.json5 in the File Manager. The file appears after the first start on 26.1.2 builds (we saw it on NeoForge). Older builds keep the home, back and rtp settings in config/ftbessentials.snbt. Inside the teleportation section, each command has its own block with these defaults:
homeallows one home (max), with acooldownof 10 seconds. Cooldowns andwarmuptimes are in seconds.backkeeps up to 10 locations (max) and has a cooldown of 30.rtphas a cooldown of 600, withmin_distance500 andmax_distance25000. On 26.1.2.5 builds, rtpalso hasglobal_cooldown, a limit shared by everyone. The 1.21.1, 1.20.4 and 1.20.1 builds do not have that key.
Click Save and start the server. To give one rank more homes, the mod accepts the ftbessentials.home.max permission node through FTB Ranks.
If it does not work
- The server stops at startup. The Console names the missing mod. Install FTB Library, Fabric API on Fabric, or Architectury API on the 1.21.1 and older builds, then start again.
- Commands are unknown. Check Installed in Mods: the FTB Essentials file must match your loader and be enabled.
- A player cannot use
/setwarp. It is for operators only.
