Set up an Agrarian Skies 2 server
Install Forge 1.7.10, add the Agrarian Skies 2 server pack over SFTP, pick a map, then start the server. The pack ships no Forge files.
Agrarian Skies 2 is a skyblock quest pack for Minecraft 1.7.10, made by jadedcat. Its CurseForge page describes a total conversion where you follow a quest book, meet quest givers and rebuild your world from almost nothing, on a choice of maps from easy to hard. The pack's server download has no Forge files in it, so this guide installs Forge 1.7.10 first and then adds the pack's files by hand.
Checked against the Agrarian Skies 2 v2.0.6a server pack on Minecraft 1.7.10 (Forge), October 2026.
What it needs
- Minecraft 1.7.10 with Forge. The panel installs Forge 1.7.10 from the JAR Manager. Forge's own promotions list names build 10.13.4.1614 as the recommended one for 1.7.10, and that is what the panel installs. The pack's own manifest names Forge 10.13.4.1614 for Minecraft 1.7.10, the same build.
- Java 8. The panel picks Java from the Minecraft version, and 1.7.10 gets Java 8.
- RAM. The pack's GitHub read-me asks for at least 4 GB of RAM allocated to the pack. The panel keeps some memory back for the system, so a 4 GB plan gives the game about 3.5 GB. Look at the larger plans on Minecraft hosting if several people will play.
- The server pack file. The CurseForge files for 2.0.6a and 2.0.6 each link a server pack, named
Agrarian+Skies+2+(2.0.6a)-Server.zipandAgrarian+Skies+2+(2.0.6)-Server.zip. They are about 130 MB each. The newest file, 2.0.6a, is tagged beta on CurseForge, and 2.0.6 is the newest tagged release. Use the same number on the server and on every player's client.
The pack's own Readme.txt says the Forge server files are not included in the download. Because the pack brings no Forge, the one-click CurseForge install in the Modpacks tab does not give you a working server. When this guide was checked, that install ended with a 404 error in its Last install log, left no start script, and Start failed. So the steps below install Forge yourself.
Install Forge, then the pack
This reinstalls the server with Forge. Your world is kept, but configuration files may be reset, so use a new server or take a backup first.
- Open Backups and click Create backup.
- Open JAR Manager. Set Server software to Forge and Minecraft version to 1.7.10, then press Apply change.
- In the Reinstall server? window keep Take a backup first ticked, then press and hold Hold to Confirm & reinstall for about three seconds, until it fills. Watch the Console tab until the install finishes.
- Download the server pack zip from the Agrarian Skies 2 page on CurseForge.
- The zip is over the 100 MB browser upload limit of File Manager, so upload it over SFTP. You find the details under SFTP connection in Settings, and Connect over SFTP walks through it. Put the zip in the server's top folder.
- In File Manager, open the zip's row and press Extract here. The zip holds
mods, config, scripts, resources, mapsand aReadme.txtdirectly, so they land in the right place. Delete the zip once it has unpacked.
Choose a map
The maps folder holds seven worlds: Default Platform - Normal, Magi's Harvest - Multiplayer, Morvy Cottage-Normal, Myst Plazas - Normal, SweetReminice - Easy, WhatRemains - Hard and boni - Normal. The pack's GitHub repository keeps the same seven in a folder called server-maps. The Magi's Harvest folder is the one named Multiplayer.
- In
maps, Rename the folder you want toworld. - Select that folder, press Move to… in its details panel, type
/in Destination folder and press Move. If aworldfolder is already there from an earlier start, stop the server and remove it first.
Do this before the first start, so the server loads the map instead of generating a world.
First start
Press Start on the Console tab and accept the Minecraft EULA if the window appears. Wait until the console stops printing and the server shows as running. Your address is in the left rail under Server address: Connect to your server for the first time.
Run op yourname in the Console to give yourself commands. The 2.0.6a change notes say that when the quests update, you run bq_admin default load for the quest book to update.
Join the server
- Install Agrarian Skies 2 with the CurseForge app (the pack's read-me calls it the Twitch app), at the same version as the server.
- Add your server in the multiplayer list with the address from the left rail.
Common problems
- The server stops with a Forge error. Open the log with Download Log on the Console tab. A mod that needs a different Forge build would show here.
- NEI crashes on a player's first start. The 2.0.6a notes list this as a known issue: NEI will most likely crash the first time you open and close the inventory.
- The server lags or runs out of memory. Watch the RAM card on the Console tab, and see Why is my server lagging.
Switching the server software reinstalls the server. Your world is kept, but configuration files may be reset. Take a backup first.
