Physics Mod on a Minecraft server
Physics Mod is client-only, so it never goes on your server. See what it does, what players install and why the Mods tab says Client only.
Physics Mod by haubna adds ragdolls, crumbling blocks and item physics to Minecraft. The important point for server owners is that it is a client mod. Modrinth lists it as required on the client and unsupported on the server, so you do not install it on your server. Each player adds it to their own game.
Checked against Physics Mod 3.2.5 on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt with Minecraft 26.3, October 2026.
What it does
The project describes collapsing caves, interactive ragdolls and item physics. Every vanilla mob supports ragdolls, fracturing and a blocky version, and blocks crumble into pieces when they break. Gravity can be changed too. The project page says it can push a PC to its limit.
The mod's website offers Lite and Pro versions. Its Features and Pro pages say what Pro adds, and the Pro page links to the author's Patreon and Ko-fi.
Why your server does not need it
Because the project marks the server side as unsupported, there is nothing for a server to load, so you do not install it on your server.
The panel knows this. Open the Mods tab on a Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt server and search for Physics Mod. The button reads Client only and is disabled. Its hint says the mod only runs in a player's own game and that players install it themselves.
What players do
Each player installs the mod for their own loader and Minecraft version, then joins your server as normal.
- Set up Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt for the Minecraft version in the launcher.
- Download the build that matches from the Modrinth page or from the mod's website, and add it to the game's mods. The download page says the Fabric build requires Fabric API, so Fabric players add that too. Quilt uses the Fabric jar.
- Start the game and join your server.

Versions
Modrinth carries one build per Minecraft version and loader. The newest release is 3.2.5 for Minecraft 26.3. Version 3.2.4 covers 26.2, and 3.0.33 (Fabric and Quilt) and 3.0.34 (NeoForge) cover 1.21.1. The mod's website has its own download page listed by Minecraft version. Players pick the build that matches the Minecraft version they play on.
If you also run server mods
The Export for players button in the Installed view of the Mods tab packs the mods your players need into one zip, with instructions. Server-only mods are left out. Physics Mod is not part of it, because it is not on your server, so tell players about it separately.
Common problems
- Several mods have similar names: Modrinth also lists Realistic Physics, Realistic Block Physics and Realistic Explosion Physics by xBigEllx. These are separate Forge mods that do run on servers. Check the author before you install.
- Nothing looks different: the mod is missing, or built for another Minecraft version, in that player's game.
- The game runs slowly: the effects are heavy on the player's PC, and the project page says it can push a PC to its limit. A player who does not want the mod can remove its jar.
