Install SecurityCraft on your server
Install SecurityCraft 1.10.2.1 on a NeoForge 26.2 server, learn the /sc owner commands and review the server settings in its config file.
SecurityCraft adds blocks and items for protecting a base on a multiplayer server: reinforced blocks that only their owner can break, keypads, keycard locks, scanners, cameras, sentries, mines and more. Its Modrinth page describes it as plenty of blocks and items to defend and secure your base, and lists it as required on both the client and the server.
Checked against SecurityCraft 1.10.2.1 on NeoForge 26.2, October 2026.
Pick a version
- NeoForge 26.2 is what this guide used. 1.10.2.1 is a full release for 26.2, and also for 26.1.2, 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.8 and 1.21.1.
- Minecraft 26.3 currently has only betas, the newest being v1.10.2.1-beta4. A fresh install takes the newest release if there is one, so on 26.3 expect a beta label.
- Forge builds stop at Minecraft 1.20.1, where Modrinth tags one file for both Forge and NeoForge.
The panel picks Java 25 for 26.x.
Switch the server to NeoForge 26.2
- Open JAR Manager, under More in the left rail.
- Set Server software to NeoForge and Minecraft version to 26.2, then press Apply change.
- Leave Take a backup first ticked, press and hold Confirm & reinstall, and wait for the console to finish.
Your world is kept, but configuration files may be reset. Change your Minecraft version or mod loader covers the switch.
Install it
- Open the Mods tab under Content and keep the Modrinth chip selected.
- Search for SecurityCraft and press Install. Modrinth lists no dependencies for this version, so no window opens. The jar is saved under its published name,
[26.2] SecurityCraft v1.10.2.1.jar. - Go to Console, press Start and accept the EULA prompt the first time.
- Open the Installed view and check for a Failed to load badge.
Every player needs the same SecurityCraft on the same loader and Minecraft version. Use Export for players in the Installed view, and read Join a modded server from your launcher.
First steps in game
Craft a book together with iron bars to get the SecurityCraft Manual, which describes every block. The mod also prints the same hint if you type /sc help, which shows the crafting table with a book and iron bars. The mod's wiki is generated from that manual.
Ownership is the core idea. The wiki says reinforced blocks are unbreakable building blocks that only the person who placed them can destroy, and that owned blocks resist explosions. To reinforce a block, right-click a Universal Block Reinforcer, put the vanilla block in its top slot and close the screen. Outside creative mode, breaking a block with it also reinforces the block. To hand a block to someone else, rename a Universal Owner Changer in an anvil to the new owner's name and right-click the block.
Operator tools
The mod gates these commands behind the game-master permission level, so give the player Make operator on the Players tab first:
/sc owner set <pos> player <name>changes one block's owner./sc owner fill <from> <to> player <name>does a region./sc owner set <pos> resetclears the owner of a block.
Server settings
SecurityCraft's server settings are saved as securitycraft-server.toml in the config folder. The serverconfig folder inside your world folder only holds a readme.txt. Stop the server, edit the file in the File Manager and press Save. Defaults from the mod's source:
allowAdminToolistrue. The Admin Tool shows a block's owner and modules.allow_breaking_non_owned_blocksisfalse.allowBlockClaimisfalse. Turn it on to let the Owner Changer claim blocks that have no owner.enable_team_ownershipisfalse. Turn it on so players on one scoreboard team share ownership.laserBlockRangeis 5,inventoryScannerRangeis 3 andmaxAlarmRangeis 100.frame_feed_viewing_enabledistrue. Its comment warns that camera feeds in frames can affect server performance, so turn it off if the server lags.
Common problems
- A block seems to have the wrong owner. The wiki says the Admin Tool shows the owner's UUID and name, so check there before you change anything.
- The server stops on start. The jar needs NeoForge for Minecraft 26.2 or newer. Fix Minecraft mod and plugin load errors shows how to read the log.
- Players are refused. Fix the mismatched mod channel list error explains why.
