Recruit Zoe and Grizzbolt in Palworld

Zoe is the Rayne Syndicate officer who fights alongside a Grizzbolt. Once you win her trust she joins you as a companion called Zoe & Grizzbolt. This guide covers what you need to do, in order, and the points where the sources disagree.

How the recruitment works

Pocketpair made Zoe a recruitable ally in v0.6.0, and its notes describe it this way: by completing missions for Zoe you earn her trust and can recruit her. In v0.6.8 it added a "Zoe's Sphere" mission that lets you obtain Zoe & Grizzbolt. The steps below are the ones palworld.wiki.gg and paldb.cc both list, and where they differ the step says so.

Steps

1. Defeat Zoe. paldb.cc places the fight at the Rayne Syndicate Tower and palworld.wiki.gg says to beat her in the Windswept Hills. Both say this has to happen before the missions open.
2. Speak to her at the Desolate Church. Both sites say she appears there after her defeat and that talking to her starts her first mission. The wiki adds that she keeps spawning there afterwards.
3. Capture a Grizzbolt from Wildlife Sanctuary No. 1. Both sites list this mission. paldb.cc says to speak to Zoe while the Grizzbolt is summoned. Pocketpair's v1.0.4 notes fixed the marker position for the No. 1 Wildlife Sanctuary in Zoe's sub mission, so use a current build if the marker looks wrong.
4. Defeat or capture 5 Free Pal Alliance members. Both sites list the same task.
5. Find her keepsake near the ruined fort. This mission is where the sources differ. paldb.cc calls the item Zoe's Tattered Memento and places it in the Ruins Fort Ruins. The wiki calls it her old sleeping blankie. The two sites give map coordinates that differ slightly, so this guide quotes neither: follow the mission marker.
6. Finish the final mission. The wiki says that after her third mission she is captured automatically. paldb.cc's last step reads "Add Rayne Syndicate Officer Zoe & Grizzbolt as an Ally".

What you get

palworld.wiki.gg describes the result as Zoe & Grizzbolt, a reskinned Grizzbolt that you can ride alongside Zoe, and which cannot breed. Only the wiki says this, so confirm it in game. It also describes a separate human Zoe you can capture. After the missions, the wiki says Zoe will still spawn at the Desolate Church.
