Enshrouded 1.0 dedicated server: what changes
Enshrouded 1.0 is out. Update your server with one restart, keep your Early Access world, and see how 1.0 saves and which new settings it adds.
Enshrouded left Early Access with version 1.0 in October 2026, and every Enshrouded server at Play Your Way runs it. A server ordered after the release installs 1.0 from the start. A server from before it installs 1.0 the next time it starts. Here's what changes for your server and what, if anything, you need to do.
Update your server to 1.0
If your server was running before the release, it needs one restart:
-
Make a backup in the Backups tab, so you have your world exactly as it was.
-
Press Restart. While 1.0 downloads, the console shows:
[PYW] Running SteamCMD update (installed: 23178631, public: 25936466)... -
Wait for
Your server is online - players can join now.The first start on 1.0 takes a minute or two longer than usual.
The console line Enshrouded server build 1265863 tells you the server is on 1.0.
If your friends get a version mismatch or can't see your server in the list after the release, the server is still on the Early Access build. Restart it.
Your world carries over
On its first 1.0 start, the server converts your Early Access world to the 1.0 save format by itself and loads it. You don't need to do anything. The original Early Access files are kept, untouched, in the savegame/migrated folder in the Files tab.
How 1.0 saves your world
Enshrouded 1.0 saves your world about every 30 seconds while players are on, and again when you press Stop or Restart. The top of the Console shows when it last saved.
The world itself is the file world0.ksd in the savegame folder, and the game keeps its own recent copies in savegame/backup. Leave these files alone while the server is running.
New settings in 1.0
Two settings arrived with 1.0. Both are in the Server Settings tab and, like the other gameplay settings, apply with the Custom difficulty preset:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Flame level for Altars in the Shroud | The Flame level players need before they can place a Flame Altar inside the Shroud, from 0 to 20. The default is 11. |
| Enemy numbers: Automatic | A new choice beside Few, Normal, Many and Extreme, and the default for a world made on 1.0. A world from before 1.0 keeps the choice it had. |
Stop the server before you change them, then start it again.
Who can join
Enshrouded 1.0 is on Steam and PlayStation 5, but there is no crossplay, and the PlayStation 5 version can't join a dedicated server. Your server is for players on PC (Steam).
Everything else works as before: the same join, admin, guest and visitor passwords, the same player cap for your plan, and the same Players, Backups and Server Settings tabs.
