Spawn Items and Teleport in Project Zomboid
Give items, spawn vehicles and teleport players on a Project Zomboid server with additem, addvehicle and teleport, from the Console tab or in game.
Admins can hand out items, spawn vehicles and move players around on a Project Zomboid server with a few commands. They suit running an event, fixing a lost base or setting up a test. The commands below are from the server's own help output on Build 42.21 (October 2026).
What you need
- A server that is running. The panel sends these to the game's console, so they do nothing on a stopped server.
- The admin role. If you haven't set one up, Project Zomboid admin commands and access levels covers the admin login and how to give your own account the role.
- The player's username, exactly as it appears in the Players tab. Put it in quotes.
Where to type them
In the panel, open the Console tab and type the command without a slash. In game, type it in chat with a leading slash.
A few commands act on you: teleport, teleportto, removeitem and alarm use your own character or position, and additem gives to you when you leave the name out. The panel's Console has no character, and the server says so: from the Console, additem without a name answers Pass username, teleport with one name answers Need player to teleport to, ex /teleport user1 user2, and alarm answers Not in a room. teleportto and removeitem look up the player who ran them, so run all of these from in-game chat as an admin. Commands that take a name, such as additem "Sam" Base.Axe 5, are the ones to use from the Console.
Spawn an item
additem "Sam" Base.Axe 5That gives Sam five axes. The count is optional, and the game gives at most 100 items per command: ask for more and it gives 100. Items are named module.item, and the match is case-sensitive, so Base.Axe works and base.axe doesn't. The wiki's item list has an Item ID column to copy from.
In game, leaving the name out gives the item to you. From the panel's Console, name the player.
removeitem Base.Axe 5 takes items off the player running it, and a count of 0 removes every item of that type.
Spawn a vehicle
addvehicle "Base.VanAmbulance" "Sam"The second value is either a username or coordinates written x,y,z. The wiki's vehicle list has a Vehicle ID column.
Teleport
Coordinates are x, y and z, with z being the floor. The game's own spawn files use 0 and 1 for z. map.projectzomboid.com shows the coordinates for any spot.
A few more admin powers
Project Zomboid server command list lists the rest.
Press Escape in game while logged in as an admin and open the Admin Panel for the game's own admin tools.
If a command does nothing
- The item isn't given. Match the ID exactly, including the capital letters and the
Base.prefix. - A name with a space fails. Put the name in quotes.
- The player is offline.
additemanswersNo such userfor a name that isn't connected.
