Set up Votifier and vote rewards
Install azuvotifier, give it an extra port, add your server to vote sites, send a test vote and pick a reward plugin to pay players for voting.
Votifier is the plugin that receives votes from Minecraft server-list sites. When a player votes for your server on a list, the site sends a message to a port on your server, Votifier checks it, and a separate reward plugin can then give the player something. Votifier alone rewards nothing, so you set up both halves.
Checked against azuvotifier 3.3.6, listed for Minecraft up to 1.21.11, October 2026.
Which Votifier to install
NuVotifier is a secure alternative to the original Votifier, and any vote listener that supports Votifier also supports it. Its own repository last tagged a release in 2021. azuvotifier is a fork that carries NuVotifier on, with releases through 3.3.6 on Modrinth, so it appears in the panel's store. The plugin still calls itself Votifier on the server.
What you need
- A Paper or Purpur server, which shows a Plugins tab under Content in the panel menu.
- A port of its own. Votifier listens on a port that cannot be the one your server uses. Your plan's extra ports live in Settings, and some plans have none. Add an extra port to your server shows how to check.
- A reward plugin, covered below.
Install it
- Open Plugins and leave the Modrinth button selected.
- Search
azuvotifier. If the store shows No results for your Minecraft version, open the Game version filter and choose Any version. azuvotifier then appears with an Install button. - Click Install. If a No backup yet box opens, click Go to Backups to take one first, or click the install button that ends in anyway to carry on without one.
- Open Console and click Restart, or Start if the server is stopped.
It loads on Paper 26.3. When it starts, the Console shows a line containing [Votifier] Votifier enabled on socket once Votifier is listening.
The first start creates the plugins/Votifier folder with a config.yml and an rsa folder holding public.key and private.key. Share only the public key.
Set the port
- Open Settings, under More, and find Network ports under Connections.
- Click Add port. The new row has an Extra badge. You cannot pick the number, so copy the address and port from the row.
- In the File Manager, open
plugins/Votifier/config.yml. Changeport: 8192to the number you copied, and click Save. - Restart from the Console tab.
Leave host as the file generated it, host: 0.0.0.0, which listens on every address. Do not change server-port in server.properties, because the panel rewrites it.
Add your server to a vote site
Add your server to a vote site using the Votifier port and a key, plus the server address the site's form asks for. Use the address and port from the Network ports row, not your game port. Then pick the key type the site supports:
- Public key. For older sites, paste the contents of
plugins/Votifier/rsa/public.key. - Token. For sites that support it, paste the
defaulttoken undertokens:inconfig.yml. Keep it secret, and share it only with a list that asks for it.
The vote site connects to this address and port from the internet, so a vote cannot arrive if the site cannot reach the port.
Test a vote
In the Console tab, send a test vote:
testvote username=YourNameIf Votifier accepts it, the Console replies "Test vote executed" followed by the vote details. Most vote sites also have their own test button, which checks the port and key from outside. Only operators can run testvote, and the nvreload command reloads the config.
Give rewards
Votifier includes no vote listeners. NuVotifier's own guide names these for Bukkit-based servers: SuperbVote, Enjin and VotingPlugin, with UltimateVotes and VoteParty as paid options. Install one from its own page, using Install Minecraft plugins on Paper or Purpur if it is not in the store. Set the rewards in the listener's own config, because Votifier only delivers the vote.
If it does not work
- The site cannot connect. Check that you gave it the extra port and not the game port, and that
portinconfig.ymlmatches. - The test works but nothing is given. No listener plugin is installed, or it is not set up. Until one is, the Console also logs an error saying a vote was received but there are no listeners available to listen for it.
- The port number changed. If you release the port and add another, you may get a different number, so update
config.ymland the vote sites.
