Set up the Prodigium Reforged modpack server
Install the Prodigium Reforged boss-progression modpack on a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge server from the Modpacks tab using its CurseForge server pack.
Prodigium Reforged is a Terraria-inspired RPG pack for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge. Its CurseForge page describes a boss-driven progression with no automation or tech, class gear and skill trees, 39 bosses with treasure bags, and NPCs that move into your base. You install the server from the Modpacks tab, using the pack's own server files.
Checked against Prodigium Reforged 4.2.0423 (the CurseForge file dated 26 September 2026) on Forge 47.4.0 and Minecraft 1.20.1, October 2026.
What the pack needs
- Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47.4.0. The server pack's
variables.txtnames both. Minecraft 1.20.1 runs on Java 17, which the panel picks for you. - Memory. The CurseForge page gives no figure. The server pack's
variables.txtsets-Xmx4G -Xms4Gfor the pack's own start scripts, but the panel writes its own launch script and sizes the heap from your plan, so that value is not used. Read how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and check the Minecraft plans before you install. - Disk space. The server pack is a download of about 766 MB and unpacks to about 1 GB. The download sits on your plan's disk while it unpacks, so you need room for both.
- The same pack version for players. Players need the same version your server installs. This guide was checked against 4.2.0423.
Install the server
- Open your server and choose Modpacks under Content in the left rail.
- In the search card, press the CurseForge button in the row of sources, then search for
Prodigium Reforged. - Press Install on Prodigium Reforged.
- The popup says it reinstalls your server with the pack and names Forge and Minecraft 1.20.1.
- Leave Take a backup first ticked. Your current world is replaced by the pack's. Tick Start the server when it's ready if you want it to start itself. Once that is ticked, an I agree to the Minecraft EULA box may appear if the EULA has not been accepted yet, and you tick it too.
- Hold Install and reinstall until it fills, then wait for the install to finish.
The CurseForge file you are installing is the dedicated server pack, so no mods are fetched one by one. The pack ships no Forge files of its own, so the install reads variables.txt and sets Forge up itself.
First start
Press Start on the Console tab. If the EULA has not been accepted yet, the panel asks you to accept it first. The server is up when the console prints a line containing For help, type. Your address is in the left rail with a copy button beside it. The Server address label shows on wide screens only. Connect to your server for the first time covers adding it in Minecraft.
Settings the pack ships
The server pack includes a server.properties with difficulty=hard, max-players=20 and view-distance=8. Change them in the Config Editor: Difficulty and View distance (chunks) are listed there, and Player slots sets the player limit. The install leaves the pack's file in place unless the popup offers Keep my world, settings and player lists and you tick it, and the panel writes a basic one only when a pack ships none, so check the values after the install.
Common problems
- A player cannot join. Check they run the same Prodigium Reforged version as the server, on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge, then compare their mod list with the server's
modsfolder. - The install stops while unpacking. Your plan's disk may be too small. Check Disk Analyser, clear space and install again.
- The server lags or runs out of memory. Watch the RAM card on the Console tab and the TPS reading in the left rail. Why is my server lagging has more.
- The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault.
Installing a pack reinstalls your server. If you have a world you care about, keep Take a backup first ticked.
