Set up the Dimensional Ascension server
Install the Dimensional Ascension quest modpack on a Minecraft 1.19.2 Forge server from the Modpacks tab, with its server settings and voice chat notes.
Dimensional Ascension is a Forge modpack for Minecraft 1.19.2 by ACCBDD. Its CurseForge page describes a guided adventure with more than 400 handwritten quests, ten dimensions, over 15 bosses, overhauled world generation and magic mods such as Botania and Ars Nouveau. You install the server from the Modpacks tab, using the pack's own server files from CurseForge.
Checked against Dimensional Ascension 0.8.1 (the CurseForge file dated 15 December 2024) and its server pack, on Forge 43.3.5 and Minecraft 1.19.2, October 2026.
Pick the right project
A search for Dimensional Ascension lists MeatballCraft, Dimensional Ascension first, because it has more downloads. That is a different pack by a different author. The one this guide covers is Dimensional Ascension by ACCBDD, which is the next result.
What the pack needs
- Minecraft 1.19.2 with Forge 43.3.5. The server pack includes that Forge build. The panel switches Java for you, which is Java 17 for this version.
- Memory. The CurseForge page gives no figure. The server pack's
run.batstarts Java with-Xms2G -Xmx4G, but the panel does not use that script and sizes the heap from your plan's RAM at every start. Read how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and check the Minecraft plans before you install. - Disk space. The server pack is a download of about 628 MB and unpacks to about 741 MB. Both sit on your plan's disk while it unpacks, so allow about 1.4 GB free. The download is deleted afterwards, and your world grows on top. The Disk Analyser tab shows what is using space.
- The same pack version for players. This guide installs 0.8.1, the newest version on the CurseForge page. Players should run that version from the CurseForge app.
Install the server files
- Open your server and choose Modpacks under Content in the left rail.
- Press the CurseForge chip above the search box, then search for
Dimensional Ascension. - Press Install on Dimensional Ascension by ACCBDD, not the MeatballCraft pack.
- The popup says it reinstalls your server with the pack and names Forge and Minecraft 1.19.2. If it offers a version dropdown, leave it on Newest that fits your server.
- Leave Take a backup first ticked. Your current world is replaced by the pack's. Tick Start the server when it's ready if you want it to start itself, and tick I agree to the Minecraft EULA if the popup shows it.
- Hold Install and reinstall until it fills, then wait for the install to finish.
The server pack carries the Forge libraries and an installer jar, and the install runs that installer.
First start
Press Start on the Console tab. If the EULA has not been accepted yet, the panel asks you to accept it first. The server is up when the console prints a line containing For help, type. Your address is in the left rail under Server address. Connect to your server for the first time covers adding it in Minecraft.
Settings the pack sets
The server pack ships its own server.properties, and the install keeps it. Open the Config Editor to change these:
max-players=20is Player slots under Players.view-distance=10andsimulation-distance=10are View distance (chunks) and Simulation distance (chunks) under Performance. Lower them if the server struggles.allow-flight=trueis Allow flight under Gameplay.spawn-protection=16is Spawn protection (blocks) under World.motdis Server list message under World, and it starts as "Dimensional Ascension 0.8.1".
Lag tools and pregenerating
The 0.8.1 notes say that version added Spark, to find sources of lag, and Chunky, to pregenerate the world so exploring does not wait on world generation. Both are in the server pack's mods folder. Their commands are in each mod's own documentation. Run them from the Console.
Voice chat
The pack includes Simple Voice Chat 2.5.12. Its shipped config/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties sets port=24454, and its comment says that setting port to -1 makes voice share the game's port, which is not recommended. If your plan includes extra ports, add one under Settings then Network ports, set port in that file to the new number and restart. How to add an extra port explains the card.
Common problems
- A player cannot join. Check they run Dimensional Ascension 0.8.1 on Minecraft 1.19.2 with Forge, then compare their mod list with the server's
modsfolder. - The install stops while unpacking. Your plan's disk may be too small for the pack. Check Disk Analyser, clear space and install again.
- The server lags. Watch the RAM card on the Console tab and the TPS reading in the left rail. Why is my server lagging has more.
- The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault.
Installing a pack reinstalls your server. If you have a world you care about, keep Take a backup first ticked.
