Set up Cisco's Fantasy Medieval RPG server
Install the Ultimate version of Cisco's Fantasy Medieval RPG on a Minecraft 1.19.2 Forge server from the Modpacks tab, with update notes.
Cisco's Fantasy Medieval RPG [Ultimate] is a medieval fantasy RPG modpack for Minecraft 1.19.2 on Forge. Its CurseForge page lists revamped combat with a dodge mechanic, a skill tree and origins, custom weapons and bosses, over 200 quests and five new dimensions. This guide covers the Ultimate pack. The Lite and Dragonfyre versions are separate CurseForge projects. You install the server from the Modpacks tab, using the pack's own server files.
Checked against Cisco's Fantasy Medieval RPG [Ultimate] V8E (CurseForge file dated 1 June 2026) on Forge 43.5.1 and Minecraft 1.19.2, October 2026.
What the pack needs
- Minecraft 1.19.2 with Forge 43.5.1. The server files name that Forge build in their
variables.txt. The panel runs 1.19.2 on Java 17 and picks it for you. - Memory. The pack's page gives no RAM figure, and its
variables.txtsets a 4 GB heap. Your plan sets the RAM here, so read how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and check the Minecraft plans before you install. - Disk space. The server files are a download of about 984 MB and unpack to about 1.07 GB. The download sits on your plan's disk while it unpacks, so you need room for both.
- The same pack version for players. Players should install the Ultimate pack, version V8E, from the CurseForge app.
Install the server
- Open your server and choose Modpacks under Content in the left rail.
- Above the search box, press the CurseForge chip, then search for
Cisco's Fantasy Medieval RPG. - Press Install on Cisco's Fantasy Medieval RPG [Ultimate], not the Lite or Dragonfyre row.
- Leave Take a backup first ticked. Your current world is replaced by the pack's. Tick Start the server when it's ready if you want it to start itself, and tick I agree to the Minecraft EULA if the window shows it.
- Press and hold the Hold to Install and reinstall button until it fills, then watch the Console until the install finishes.
The Modpacks tab installs the newest file that has a server pack, which is V8E. The earlier V8D added Cisco's Content Unbound, and the V8E changelog calls itself a re-upload to fix a server crash in that content.
The server files hold the mods and configs but no Forge. When the panel finds no launcher in the files, it reads variables.txt and installs the loader named there, so it sets up Forge 43.5.1.
First start
Press Start on the Console tab. If the EULA has not been accepted yet, the panel asks you to accept it first. The server is up when the console prints a line containing For help, type. Your address is in the left rail under Server address. Connect to your server for the first time covers adding it in Minecraft.
The server files carry no server.properties, so the panel starts from a minimal one. After the first start, open the Config Editor to set things like Difficulty and Player slots.
Updating the pack
The pack's HOW TO UPDATE SERVER.txt says to replace the mods folder and the config folder with the ones from the new server pack. Once the pack is installed, its row in the Modpacks tab reads Installed and cannot be pressed, and the Update to button is only for Modrinth packs, so a CurseForge pack has no one-press update. Take a backup in the Backups tab first, then follow the pack's own steps with File Manager or SFTP: download the new server pack from the pack's CurseForge page, and replace the mods and config folders with the ones inside it.
Common problems
- A player cannot join. Check they run the Ultimate pack V8E on Minecraft 1.19.2 with Forge, then compare their mod list with the server's
modsfolder. - The install stops while unpacking. Your plan's disk may be too small. Check Disk Analyser, clear space and install again.
- The server lags or runs out of memory. Watch the RAM card on the Console tab and the TPS reading in the left rail. Why is my server lagging has more.
- The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault.
Installing a pack reinstalls your server. If you have a world you care about, keep Take a backup first ticked.
