Set up the All The Mods Gravitas 2 server
Install the All The Mods Gravitas 2 modpack on a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge server from the Modpacks tab, with its disk and Forge notes.
All The Mods - Gravitas² is a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge modpack built around TerraFirmaCraft. Its page describes a climb from stone-age tools to GregTech, thorium reactors and voyages to the stars, with Create, Integrated Dynamics and Applied Energistics along the way. The pack publishes a ready-made server pack, and the Modpacks tab installs it for you.
Checked against All The Mods - Gravitas² 0.9.4 (the CurseForge file dated 19 April 2026) on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47.4.10, the version its own start script names, October 2026.
What the pack needs
- Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge. The pack's own start script names Forge 47.4.10. Minecraft 1.20.1 runs on Java 17, which the panel picks for you.
- Memory. The pack's page gives no RAM figure, and the server pack holds 235 mod jars. Your plan sets the RAM, so read how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and check the Minecraft plans first.
- Disk space. The server pack is a download of about 562 MB (CurseForge's file page shows 535.8 MB for the same file, because it counts in MiB) and unpacks to about 642 MB. The download sits on your plan's disk while it unpacks, so you need room for both.
- The same pack for players. Players install Gravitas² from the CurseForge app. The 0.9.4a file is marked a clientside hotfix that works with the 0.9.4 server files, so players can run either.
Install the server
- Open your server and choose Modpacks under Content in the left rail.
- Above the search box, press the CurseForge chip and search for
Gravitas. Pick All The Mods - Gravitas², not All the Mods - Gravitas - ATMG, which is the older Minecraft 1.18.2 pack. - Press Install. The popup says it reinstalls your server and names Forge and Minecraft 1.20.1.
- Leave Take a backup first ticked, because your current world is replaced. Tick Start the server when it's ready if you want it to start by itself, and I agree to the Minecraft EULA if the popup shows it.
- Hold Install and reinstall until it fills, then wait for the install to finish.
The tab installs the newest file that has a server pack, which is 0.9.4. The newer 0.9.4a has none.
The server pack ships no Forge files, so the installer sets up Forge for 1.20.1 itself. It uses the build the pack's own manifest names, 47.4.10, the same one the pack's script names. The author's 0.9.4 changelog says that update bumped Forge from 47.4.6 to 47.4.10.
First start
Press Start on the Console tab and accept the Minecraft EULA if the panel asks. The server is up when the console prints a line containing For help, type. Your address is in the left rail with a copy button beside it. Connect to your server for the first time covers adding it in Minecraft, and joining a modded server from a launcher covers the client side.
Settings the pack's script sets
The pack's own startserver.sh writes allow-flight=true and max-tick-time=180000 into a new server.properties. Our launch does not run that script, so set them yourself in Config Editor: Allow flight and Watchdog timeout (ms). The install already creates server.properties, so open Config Editor once it finishes, change the two options, then press Save changes in each section (or use the save bar that appears), and restart. The Watchdog timeout (ms) setting kills the server when one tick takes longer than the number you set, and it is 60000 by default.
Common problems
- A player cannot join. Check they run the same pack version and Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge.
- Two mods that do not mix. The 0.9.4 changelog says Create Power Grid and Valkyrien Skies do not crash but are incompatible, and asks server owners to tell players not to use the two together.
- The install stops while unpacking. Your plan's disk may be too small. Check Disk Analyser, clear space and install again.
- The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault.
Installing a pack reinstalls your server. If you have a world you care about, keep Take a backup first ticked.
