Set up an All the Mods 9 server
Install the All the Mods 9 Forge 1.20.1 modpack from the Modpacks tab using its CurseForge server files, then set the server options the pack expects.
All the Mods 9 (ATM9) is a Forge modpack from the ATMTeam for Minecraft 1.20.1. Its CurseForge page says it has over 400 mods, countless quests and a built-in endgame, and asks whether you can craft the ATM Star. You install the server from the Modpacks tab, using the pack's own server files from CurseForge.
Checked against All the Mods 9 1.1.1 (the CurseForge file dated 12 October 2025) and its server files, on Forge 47.4.0 and Minecraft 1.20.1, October 2026.
What the pack needs
- Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47.4.0. The server files carry that Forge installer, and their start script names the same build. The panel switches Java for you, which is Java 17 for this version.
- Memory. The CurseForge page gives no figure. The server files'
user_jvm_args.txtasks for-Xms4Gand-Xmx8Gand calls 4 GB "a good default for a modded server", but the panel does not read that file. It sizes the heap from your plan's RAM at every start. Read how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and check the Minecraft plans before you install. The server files'modsfolder holds 418 jar files, plus one more that ships switched off as.jar.DISABLED. - Disk space. The server files are a download of about 1.1 GB and unpack to about 1.3 GB. Both sit on your plan's disk while it unpacks, so allow about 2.4 GB free. The download is deleted afterwards, and your world grows on top. The Disk Analyser tab shows what is using space.
- The same pack version for players. This guide installs 1.1.1. Players should run that version from the CurseForge app.
Install the server files
- Open your server and choose Modpacks under Content in the left rail.
- Press the CurseForge chip above the search box, then search for
All the Mods 9. - Press Install on All the Mods 9 - ATM9. The same results list close relatives such as All the Mods 9 - No Frills and All the Mods 9 - To the Sky - atm9sky, which are separate packs, so check the name.
- The popup says it reinstalls your server with the pack and names Forge and Minecraft 1.20.1. If it offers a Pack version list, leave it on Newest that fits your server.
- Leave Take a backup first ticked, because your current world is replaced by the pack's. Tick Start the server when it's ready if you want it to start itself, and tick I agree to the Minecraft EULA if the popup shows it.
- Hold Install and reinstall until it fills, then wait for the install to finish.
The server files sit inside one folder in the download, named for the version. The install moves them up to the server's root, then runs the Forge installer the pack ships.
First start
Press Start on the Console tab. If the EULA has not been accepted yet, the panel asks you to accept it first. The server is up when the console prints a line containing For help, type. Your address is in the left rail under Server address. Connect to your server for the first time covers adding it in Minecraft.
Settings to set yourself
The pack's start script writes a server.properties on a fresh server with allow-flight=true, motd=All the Mods 9 and max-tick-time=180000. The panel does not run that script and the server files carry no server.properties, so set these yourself in the Config Editor and restart:
- Allow flight under Gameplay.
- Watchdog timeout (ms) under Performance.
- Server list message under World.
Common problems
- The install stops while unpacking. The install message says your plan's disk may be too small for the pack. Free space in File Manager, or check plans.
- A player cannot join. Check they run All the Mods 9 1.1.1 on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge, not No Frills or To The Sky.
- The server lags. Watch the RAM card on the Console tab and the TPS reading in the left rail. Why is my server lagging has more.
- The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault.
- You want to report a pack bug. The pack's issue tracker is its GitHub repository.
Installing a pack reinstalls your server. If you have a world you care about, keep Take a backup first ticked.
