Install Mystical World on your server
Install Mystical World 0.4.8.29 and Patchouli on a Forge 1.18.2 server from CurseForge, and see its mobs, ores and settings.
Mystical World, by Noobanidus, EpicSquid, Martacus and Davoleo, is a Forge mod that adds a set of small creatures, ores, tools and foods in a "Vanilla+" style. Its newest build is for Minecraft 1.18.2 on Forge, and it needs the Patchouli mod. This guide sets up a 1.18.2 Forge server and installs both.
Checked against Mystical World 0.4.8.29 with Patchouli on Forge 1.18.2, October 2026.
What it adds
The 1.18.2 file's own language data lists:
- 15 creatures: Beetle, Clam, Deer, Duck, Endermini, Fennec, Frog, Green Sprout, Hell Sprout, Lava Cat, Owl, Purple Sprout, Red Sprout, Silkworm and Tan Sprout.
- Lead, silver, tin and sapphire ores, each with a deepslate version, and tools, armour and building blocks made from those metals and gems.
- An aubergine crop with cooked and salad foods, plus drinks such as the dandelion cordial.
- An Encyclopedia item, and its own creative tab named Mystical World.
The project's README says mods such as Roots 3 depend on Mystical World mainly for its mobs. If you run a modpack that already lists it, do not install a second copy.
What the server needs
The newest file, 0.4.8.29, is for Minecraft 1.18.2 and Forge 40 or newer, and its metadata marks Patchouli 1.18 or newer as mandatory. CurseForge tags that file as a beta. There is also a release build, 0.3.6.27, for Minecraft 1.16.5. The mod has no Fabric, NeoForge or Paper build.
To put the server on Forge 1.18.2, open JAR Manager under More, choose Forge under Server software and 1.18.2 under Minecraft version, then press Apply change. The panel runs 1.18.2 on Java 17 and switches that for you. Switching reinstalls the server and keeps your world, so make a backup in the Backups tab first. Change your Minecraft version or mod loader has the full steps.
Install it
The mod's own page is on CurseForge, so use that source.
- Open Mods under Content and press the CurseForge chip.
- Search for
Mystical World. Check the Game version filter reads 1.18.2, then press Install on Mystical World. - A prompt titled "Needs 1 more add-on" names Patchouli. Press Install all.
- Restart from the Console tab. The install toast says "Restart the server to load them".
Open the Installed view to check. Mystical World and Patchouli should both be listed with no Failed to load or Needs badge.
Players need it too
The mod adds creatures, blocks and items, and its dependencies are marked as needed on both sides. Each player installs the same Mystical World and Patchouli builds for Forge 1.18.2. Join a modded server from your launcher covers the player side, and Fix the mismatched mod channel list error explains a refusal when the mods differ.
Settings
The mod has a common config that sets creature spawns by biome, ore generation and other features. Look for config/mysticalworld-common.toml after the first start. Stop the server before you edit it in the File Manager, and restart afterwards.
Common problems
- The server stops at startup: Patchouli is missing, or Forge is older than 40. Install Patchouli for 1.18.2 and restart.
- No results for the mod: make sure CurseForge is the selected chip and the Game version is 1.18.2.
- Other crashes: Fix mod and plugin errors on Minecraft covers reading the Console log.
