Install Farmer's Delight on your server
Install Farmer's Delight 1.3.4 on a Forge or NeoForge server, or the Refabricated port on Fabric, with what players need and common fixes.
Farmer's Delight is a farming and cooking mod by vectorwing. You prepare meals such as stews, salads and desserts with a cooking system, improve your soil, and get tools, weapons and decorations. It needs to be on the server and in each player's game. The original mod runs on Forge and NeoForge, and Fabric servers use a separate port.
Checked against Farmer's Delight 1.3.4 on NeoForge 1.21.1 and Forge 1.20.1, and Farmer's Delight Refabricated 3.6.29 on Fabric with Minecraft 26.3, October 2026.
Pick the right build
Farmer's Delight is a mod, not a plugin, so Paper and Purpur servers can't load it. Which file you want depends on your loader:
- Forge, Minecraft 1.20.1: Farmer's Delight 1.3.4 asks for Forge 47.1.0 or newer. The panel runs 1.20.1 on Java 17.
- NeoForge, Minecraft 1.21.1: Farmer's Delight 1.3.4 asks for NeoForge 21.1.219 or newer. The panel runs 1.21.1 on Java 21.
- Fabric: use Farmer's Delight Refabricated, an unofficial Fabric port. Version 3.6.29 is built for Minecraft 26.3, needs Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer and needs Fabric API. Minecraft 26.x runs on Java 25.
The original mod's newest builds on Modrinth stop at 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. An older Fabric port called "[Deprecated] Farmer's Delight [Fabric]" is still listed, and the Refabricated page says add-ons written for it will not work with the new port.
To change loader or version, open JAR Manager under More, choose the loader under Server software and the version under Minecraft version, then press Apply change. Change your Minecraft version or mod loader has the full steps. Switching reinstalls the server and keeps your world, but make a backup first in the Backups tab.
Install it
- Open Mods under Content and keep the Modrinth chip selected in the source chip row at the top of the tab. The Game version filter starts on your server's version.
- Search for
Farmer's Delight. Many add-ons carry the name, such as Chef's Delight and More Delight, so choose Farmer's Delight by vectorwing on Forge or NeoForge, or Farmer's Delight Refabricated on Fabric. - Press Install. On Fabric, a "Needs" prompt appears for Fabric API: press Install all.
- Restart from the Console tab. The install toast says "Restart the server to load it".
Open the Installed view to check. The mod should be listed with no Failed to load badge.
Players need it too
Modrinth marks Farmer's Delight as required on both the client and the server. Each player installs the same mod for their loader and Minecraft version. Join a modded server from your launcher covers the player side, and Fix the mismatched mod channel list error explains the refusal when versions differ.
First steps in the game
The project says to follow the advancements, which explain most of the basics. Press L by default to open the Advancements screen. Its Getting Started wiki page is the direct guide.
Settings
Farmer's Delight writes its settings to farmersdelight-common.toml in the config folder. In the 1.21.1 build these include enableFarmerFDTrades, which lets Novice and Apprentice Farmer villagers buy its crops, and enableRopeReeling, which lets players reel a rope back in by using it while sneaking with an empty hand. Stop the server before you edit the file in the File Manager.
Updating
Click Check for updates in the Installed view. The store swaps in the newest build for your server's version, and you restart afterwards.
Common problems
- Too many results: pick the one by vectorwing, or the Refabricated port on Fabric, and ignore the names that read "for Farmer's Delight".
- No results for your version: the original mod has no build past 1.21.1. Fabric servers are covered by the Refabricated port instead.
- The server stops at startup: open the Console and read the last lines. Fix mod and plugin errors on Minecraft covers reading the log.
