Install Enchancement on your server
Add Enchancement 26.3-r4 to a Fabric server, or 26.2-r9 to NeoForge, with StrawberryLib and Fabric API, then tune its enchanting settings.
Enchancement, by MoriyaShiine, overhauls the vanilla enchanting system. It adds 34 enchantments with abilities such as dashing, gliding and grappling, and its settings can also remove most vanilla enchantments, change how the enchanting table works and rebalance weapons and armour. Modrinth lists it as required on both the server and the client.
Checked against Enchancement 26.3-r4 on Fabric with Minecraft 26.3, and 26.2-r9 on NeoForge with Minecraft 26.2, October 2026.
Pick the right build
Modrinth lists Enchancement for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt. There is no Forge build.
- Fabric: the newest build, 26.3-r4, is for Minecraft 26.3 and asks for Java 25. Builds exist for earlier versions too: 26.2-r9, 26.1-r25, 1.21.11-r8, 1.21-r14 for 1.21 and 1.21.1, and 1.20-26 for 1.20.1.
- NeoForge: the newest build is 26.2-r9, for Minecraft 26.2. A NeoForge server on 26.3 has no build yet.
- Quilt: the newest build is 26.2-r2, for Minecraft 26.2.
Open JAR Manager under More, choose the loader under Server software and the version under Minecraft version, then press Apply change. The panel chooses Java for you from the version. Change your Minecraft version or mod loader has the full steps. Switching reinstalls the server and keeps your world, but make a backup first in the Backups tab.
What it needs
- Fabric and Quilt: Fabric API and StrawberryLib.
- NeoForge: Forgified Fabric API, StrawberryLib and Launchpad.
Enchancement carries MidnightLib inside its jar, so you don't install that separately.
Install it
- Open Mods under Content and keep the Modrinth chip selected in the source chip row at the top of the tab. The Game version filter starts on your server's version.
- Search for
Enchancement. Similar names such as Enchancement Unbound and Enchancement Overruled are separate projects, so choose Enchancement by MoriyaShiine. - Press Install. When the "Needs" prompt appears, press Install all.
- Restart from the Console tab.
Open the Installed view to check. Enchancement and its libraries should be listed with no Failed to load badge.
Players need it too
Every player installs Enchancement for their loader and Minecraft version, with the same libraries. Join a modded server from your launcher covers the player side, and on NeoForge Fix the mismatched mod channel list error explains the refusal when versions differ.
Settings
Everything the mod adds is configurable, and it uses MidnightLib for its settings. The file is enchancement.json in the config folder, and the mod writes it on the first start. Its settings include these, written as the mod names them in its code:
overhaulEnchantingswaps the enchanting table for a version where you choose enchantments, which then need chiseled bookshelves holding enchanted books. Its choices are Chiseled, Free Choose, Non-treasure and Disabled.enchantmentLimitallows only one enchantment per item.disableDurabilitytakes the choices All, Enchanted and None, and controls whether items lose durability.enhanceMobslets mobs spawn with enchantments.
Stop the server before you edit the file in the File Manager, and restart afterwards.
The project describes features that remove most vanilla enchantments, change how enchanting works and rebalance combat. Players on a world that is already in use will notice. Take a backup in the Backups tab before installing it there.
Common problems
- The server stops at startup: open the Console and read the last lines. A missing StrawberryLib or Fabric API is the usual cause. Fix mod and plugin errors on Minecraft covers reading the log.
- No results in the store: the Game version filter follows your server. NeoForge has no 26.3 build, and Forge has none at all.
- Players can't join: Modrinth lists the mod as required on the client, so compare their loader, Minecraft version and Enchancement build with the Installed view.
