Set up Eden Ring Reforked on Minecraft

Eden Ring Reforked is a maintained fork of Paulevs's Eden Ring mod, which adds a sci-fi dimension: a huge ring around a blue gas giant. The Modrinth page lists a custom dimension with its own portal, 12 new biomes, 4 new wood types, 1 new mob and gravity control mechanics. It is a Fabric mod and must be installed on the server and on every player's game.

Checked against Eden Ring Reforked 0.8.0 (file eden-ring-21.0.0.jar) on Fabric 1.21.1, October 2026.

Pick the right server version

The newest file labelled release is 0.8.0, published on 17 August 2026 for Fabric on Minecraft 1.21 and 1.21.1. A newer file, 0.8.1-beta.3 from 20 August 2026, is labelled beta. Version 0.7.1, from 14 April 2026, is the release for Minecraft 1.20.1. The mod does not run on Paper, Purpur, Forge or NeoForge.

For 0.8.0, open JAR Manager under More, choose Fabric under Server software and 1.21.1 under Minecraft version, then press Apply change. The panel picks Java 21 for you. Change your Minecraft version or mod loader has the full steps. Switching reinstalls the server and keeps your world, but make a backup first in the Backups tab.

What it needs

The jar's fabric.mod.json asks for Fabric Loader 0.16.0 or newer, Fabric API 0.100.0 or newer, BCLib 21.0.13 or newer and World Weaver 21.0.13 or newer. On Modrinth the 21.0.13 builds of BCLib and World Weaver for 1.21.1 are labelled alpha, and they are the newest builds for that Minecraft version. Modrinth lists no dependencies on the 0.8.0 file, so the store will not offer them as a prompt. Install them yourself.

Install it

1. Open Mods under Content and keep the Modrinth chip selected. The Game version filter starts on your server's version.
2. Search for Fabric API, BCLib and World Weaver in turn and press Install on each.
3. Search for Eden Ring Reforked and press Install. The jar is about 24 MB.
4. Restart from the Console tab.

Open the Installed view afterwards. All four mods should be listed with no Failed to load badge. A Needs badge names a mod that is missing.

Players need it too

Each player installs Eden Ring Reforked, Fabric API, BCLib and World Weaver for Fabric 1.21.1. Join a modded server from your launcher covers the player side, and Fix the mismatched mod channel list error explains the refusal when versions differ.

Building the portal

The Modrinth page lists the portal frame: 12 waxed copper blocks, 12 waxed cut copper stairs, 4 blocks of amethyst, 4 amethyst clusters and 1 gold block. You light the central gold block with flint and steel. The page has a picture of the layout to copy.

The page says this is not a direct copy of the original Eden Ring but a maintained fork, so guides written for the old mod may not match.

Common problems

• The server stops at startup: open the Console and read the last lines. A missing BCLib, World Weaver or Fabric API is the usual cause. Fix mod and plugin errors on Minecraft covers reading the log.
• The mod is not in the store: the Game version filter follows your server. Check it matches the version you chose in JAR Manager.
• Players cannot join: they are missing the mod or one of its libraries, or run a different version.
