Install Bartering Station on Minecraft

Install Bartering Station 26.3.0 on a NeoForge or Fabric 26.3 server with Puzzles Lib, then tune its piglin range and barter delay.

Updated 4 min read

Bartering Station adds one block that does your piglin bartering for you. You fill it with gold ingots, it hands them to piglins nearby, and whatever they trade back is collected in the block. Hoppers can feed it and empty it. The mod needs to be on the server and in each player's game, and it runs on NeoForge and Fabric.

Checked against Bartering Station 26.3.0 on NeoForge with Minecraft 26.3, October 2026.

What it needs

Bartering Station is a mod, not a plugin, so Paper and Purpur servers can't load it. The 26.3.0 builds need:

  • NeoForge: Puzzles Lib.
  • Fabric: Puzzles Lib, Fabric API and Forge Config API Port.

Minecraft 26.x runs on Java 25, which the panel chooses for you. Forge builds stop at Minecraft 1.20.4. If your server runs another loader or version, open JAR Manager under More, choose the loader under Server software and the version under Minecraft version, and press Apply change. The loader and version guide has the full steps. Leave Take a backup first ticked in the confirmation window.

Install it

  1. Open Mods under Content, keep the Modrinth chip selected in the source chip row at the top of the tab, and check the Game version filter matches your server.
  2. Search for Bartering Station and press Install on the entry by Fuzs.
  3. When the "Needs" window lists the libraries above, press Install all.
  4. Restart from the Console tab.

The Installed view should list the mod with no Failed to load badge.

Players need it too

Modrinth marks the mod as required on both the client and the server. Every player installs the same mod and libraries for their loader. Join a modded server from your launcher covers the steps, and Fix the mismatched mod channel list error explains what happens when versions differ.

Using the block

Craft the station from two gold ingots in the top row and four planks of any kind below them. Place it near piglins and put gold ingots inside. Per the project page:

  • It hands gold to up to six piglins in range every 15 seconds. Build more stations to serve more piglins.
  • It takes one ingot from a single slot per cycle, so spread the gold across all slots.
  • It collects every result and stops working when those slots are full.
  • If gold isn't being spent, move the piglins closer.

Settings

The server file is barteringstation-server.toml. On NeoForge 26.3 it appears in the config folder after the first start, and the world folder has no serverconfig folder to check. Stop the server before editing the file in the File Manager.

  • horizontal_range is the search range on the flat plane, 12 blocks by default.
  • vertical_range is the range up and down, 4 blocks by default.
  • barter_delay is the time in ticks between attempts. The default is 300 ticks (15 seconds) and the minimum is 20.

Each player also has barteringstation-client.toml with cooldown_render_type, which can be NONE, OVERLAY, ARROWS or BOTH. The default is ARROWS.

Updating

Press Check for updates in the Installed view. It only looks: if newer builds exist, the button becomes Update all (N), which asks you to confirm, and a row with a newer build gets its own Update button. Use either one, then restart the server.

Common problems

  • The station does nothing: check that gold is in a slot, a piglin is in range and the result slots aren't full.
  • The server stops at startup: read the last lines in the Console. A missing library is the usual cause. Fix mod and plugin errors on Minecraft covers the log.
  • Players can't join: they are missing the mod or one of its libraries.
