Fix Dragonwilds Server Missing From Public List

Your Dragonwilds server is running but players cannot find it. Check the world name, game version and start-up, or join by code or IP.

Updated 4 min read

Your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server is running, but your party can't find it in the game's Public list. Nearly every case comes down to the world name, the game version or the server not having finished starting. This guide works through them in order, and ends with two ways to join that skip the list.

Checked against RuneScape: Dragonwilds 1.0.1, October 2026.

1. Check the server finished starting

Open the Console and look for Your server is online - players can join now. The server only registers itself in the list at that point. If the line isn't there yet, wait for it. If the server stopped with red lines instead, Dragonwilds server won't start? Fix it covers the usual causes.

2. Search the world name exactly

The list matches the World Name from your Startup tab, not the Server Name. The search is case sensitive, so capitals and spaces have to match. Jagex's 1.0.0.5 notes added a tooltip to the search bar saying so. The game's list cuts a world name to 16 characters, and World Name is capped at 16 to match.

  1. Open Startup and read World Name exactly as it is written.
  2. In the game, open Play, then Online, then the Public tab, and type that name into the search box.
  3. Your world shows your Server Name under Created By, with a dash in front, such as -PlayYourWay.

If you imported a world, World Name was set for you, so search for the name Startup shows, not the .sav file name. RuneScape: Dragonwilds worlds and saves explains how the server picks its world.

Tip

A typo in World Name doesn't break anything. The server makes a brand-new world under the new name, and your old one stays on the server. Put the right name back and restart to get it again.

3. Match the game version

The wiki says a dedicated server can disappear from the list whenever an update or hotfix is released, because the server and the game no longer run the same version. Jagex's 1.0.0.8 notes say dedicated servers need a restart to apply that hotfix.

  1. Press Restart on the dashboard. Your server checks Steam for a new build each time it starts and installs it on the way up.
  2. Watch the Console for the line starting RuneScape: Dragonwilds version. That is the version your server runs.
  3. Check your game is on the same version, and update it if it isn't.

If the restart doesn't bring the server up to date, Jagex's 1.0.0.8 notes say SteamCMD updates for dedicated servers were being rate limited, so a server can be slow to pick up the new build.

Epic Games Store players had a separate fault: Jagex's 1.0.1 notes fixed an issue where they couldn't see dedicated servers, even ones they had joined before. They need the game updated.

4. Join without the list

If the list still doesn't show your world, skip it:

  • Invite Code: type the code from your panel's left rail into the Invite Code box on the Worlds screen. The server makes a new code every start, so send the current one.
  • Direct: open the Direct tab and type your server's IP address and port, such as 203.0.113.10:25589. Include the port. Without it the game tries 7777, which isn't your server.

Either way the game asks for the join password next. RuneScape: Dragonwilds getting started shows where to find all three.

If a world appears but the join fails

Your world may be at your plan's player cap. Check the Players tab, or upgrade for more room. A password that is refused is a separate problem: Change your game server's join password covers it.
