Enshrouded cooking and food buffs

Cooking in Enshrouded starts by hand over a fireplace and grows into a set of cooking stations run by the Farmer, Emily Fray. This guide covers how to unlock each station, how food buffs stack and what your server's settings change.

Unlock the stations

The Farmer crafts the cooking stations, so rescue her first. The Enshrouded farming guide covers that. Her cooking stations are:

• Cooking Station. The official wiki says it cooks the foods you would otherwise cook one at a time over the fireplace, and it needs a Kettle. The first Kettle is found at a Flame Sanctum in Pikemead's Reach during the Farmer's quest Cooking Equipment For The Farmer. Once you have one, the Blacksmith can craft more.
• Kitchen. The official wiki's quest text says that with a Kitchen the Farmer can cook any dish you desire. The MetaForge database lists Beef Stew as a Kitchen recipe.
• Oven. The official wiki says it needs the Almanac of Plants and Seedlings placed in your base, and that the Almanac comes from the quest Almanac of Plants and Seedlings For The Farmer.
• Seafood Grill. Keen Games' 1.0 notes say the quest to craft one now starts after you reach Veilwater Basin, not before.

Keen's 1.0 notes also say the Iron Fireplace no longer has a cooking option. The official wiki's Farmer's Advice quest has you cook a fish at the campfire, and the Farmer's stations do the rest.

Food slots and food types

The official wiki says you start with three food slots, so three different foods can be active at once. Only one food of each type can be active. The wiki's example is that a purple berry and a strawberry are both fruit, so you cannot eat one while the other is running.

The Dessert Stomach skill adds a fourth slot. The official wiki and the MetaForge database both say it gives you one additional food slot.

It also lists sweets, grains, mushrooms, vegetables, night plants, fish and eggs. A cooked meal with several ingredients takes the type of its strongest benefit, according to the wiki. The wiki adds that a slot can be refreshed or overwritten once about 20% or less of the food's duration is left.

What changed in 1.0

• Keen reworked the yield and production time of many factory recipes and cooking stations. Its notes say the recipes for items players often need a lot of are now more generous and take less time.
• Most foods can now sit on coasters and food plates; skewers and fish are among the few that cannot.
