Set up the Farming Crossing 4 server
Install the Farming Crossing 4 farming modpack on a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge server from the Modpacks tab, with its memory, disk and version needs.
Farming Crossing 4 is a farming, exploring and decorating modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge, by the CurseForge author Khazenor, inspired by Animal Crossing. Its page describes collecting animals, fish, flora and decorations, helping special villagers move in, and spending Miles Tickets at a customised market. You install the server from the Modpacks tab, using the pack's CurseForge server pack.
Checked against Farming Crossing 4 v4.1.13 (the CurseForge file dated 7 August 2024) on Forge 47.2.20 and Minecraft 1.20.1, October 2026.
What the pack needs
- Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47.2.20. The server pack carries Forge 1.20.1-47.2.20 in its
librariesfolder. Minecraft 1.20.1 runs on Java 17, which the panel picks for you. - Memory. The pack's page gives no RAM figure, and the server pack holds 245 mod jars. Your plan sets the RAM, so see how much RAM a Minecraft server needs and the Minecraft plans.
- Disk space. The server pack is a download of about 482 MB and unpacks to about 652 MB, and the download sits on your disk while it unpacks.
- The same pack version for players. Players install Farming Crossing 4 v4.1.13 from the CurseForge app.
The author also publishes the original Farming Crossing and Farming Crossing 2, 3, 5 and 6 as separate packs. Farming Crossing 6 is for Minecraft 1.21.1 and is not this guide.
Install the server
- Open your server and choose Modpacks under Content in the left rail.
- Above the search box, press the CurseForge chip, then search for
Farming Crossing 4. - Pick Farming Crossing 4 by Khazenor and press Install. The popup says it reinstalls your server with the pack and names Forge and Minecraft 1.20.1.
- Leave Take a backup first ticked. Your current world is replaced by the pack's. Tick Start the server when it's ready if you want it to start itself, and tick I agree to the Minecraft EULA if the popup shows it.
- Press and hold Hold to Install and reinstall until it fills, then wait for the install to finish.
The pack ships its own Forge launch files, so the install finds them and downloads nothing for Forge.
First start
Press Start on the Console tab. If the EULA has not been accepted yet, the panel asks you to accept it first. The server is up when the console prints a line containing For help, type. Your address is in the left rail under Server address. Connect to your server for the first time covers adding it in Minecraft, and joining a modded server from a launcher covers the client side.
The pack has a questing system for cooking, collecting decorations, minerals, fish and animals. The page says flavour text for special villagers appears in the server chat before they move in, and the v4.1.13 changelog mentions a server message for checking food cravings with a right click.
Common problems
- A player cannot join. Check they run Farming Crossing 4 v4.1.13 on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge, then compare their mod list with the server's
modsfolder. - The install stops while unpacking. Your plan's disk may be too small. Check Disk Analyser, clear space and install again.
- The server lags. Watch the RAM card on the Console tab and the TPS reading in the left rail. Why is my server lagging has more.
- The server crashes at boot. Find and read a crash report shows how to name the mod at fault.
Installing a pack reinstalls your server. If you have a world you care about, keep Take a backup first ticked.
