Install Biomes O' Plenty on your server
Add Biomes O' Plenty 26.3.0.0.7 to a Fabric, Forge or NeoForge server with GlitchCore and TerraBlender, then start a world that uses it.
Biomes O' Plenty (BOP) is a world generation mod from Glitchfiend. It adds more than 50 biomes across the Overworld, Nether and End, along with new plants, flowers, trees and building blocks. It runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, so it goes in the Mods tab, and every player who joins needs a copy too.
Checked against Biomes O' Plenty 26.3.0.0.7 on Minecraft 26.3, October 2026.
What the server needs
BOP is a mod, not a plugin, so a Paper or Purpur server can't load it. Minecraft plugins vs mods explains the difference. You need Fabric, Forge or NeoForge, and the 26.3 release of BOP has a build for each of the three.
It also needs two library mods, GlitchCore and TerraBlender, and the Fabric build needs Fabric API as well. Minecraft 26.x runs on Java 25, and the panel picks that for you.
Open Content in the panel menu and look for Mods. If the tab isn't there, open JAR Manager under More, choose Fabric, Forge or NeoForge, and press Apply change. Change your Minecraft version or mod loader has the full steps. Switching reinstalls the server and keeps your world, but make a backup first in the Backups tab.
Install the mod and its libraries
- Open Mods and keep the Store view with the Modrinth chip selected in the source chip row at the top of the tab.
- Search for
Biomes O' Plentyand press Install on the result with that exact name. Add-ons built for BOP, such as Macaw's Biomes O' Plenty or Dynamic Trees - Biomes O' Plenty, have longer names. - If a Needs prompt appears, press Install all. For the 26.3 builds, Modrinth lists GlitchCore as required, plus Fabric API on the Fabric build. It does not list TerraBlender.
- Search for
TerraBlenderand press Install on it as well. - Restart from the Console tab. The toast after a single install says "Restart the server to load it", and after Install all it says "Restart the server to load them". The panel has no restart button inside the store.
On Minecraft 26.3, Modrinth labels both libraries' builds as beta. The store takes the newest release and falls back to the newest beta when a project has no release, so they still install.
Open the Installed view to check. Biomes O' Plenty, GlitchCore and TerraBlender should all be listed. A Needs badge or a Failed to load badge on a row points at the problem.
Players need the same mods
Modrinth marks BOP as required on both the client and the server. Each player installs BOP, GlitchCore and TerraBlender, plus Fabric API if you run Fabric, on the same loader and Minecraft version through their launcher. Join a modded server from your launcher covers that side. If someone is turned away with a mod list error, see Fix the mismatched mod channel list error.
Start a world with the new biomes
The project says that on Minecraft 1.18 and newer, nothing in server.properties needs to change.
To try BOP in a fresh world instead of your existing one, start a new world:
- Make a backup in the Backups tab.
- Open Config Editor under Content and change World folder to a new name, for example
bop-world. The help text there says changing it starts a new world and the old folder stays on disk. - Press Save changes, then restart the server.
The config files
BOP writes its settings into a biomesoplenty folder inside config, as generation.toml, gameplay.toml and biome_toggles.json. The generation file holds the weighting of BOP's biome regions in the Overworld and Nether. Edit these in the File Manager with the server stopped.
Common problems
- The server stops at startup: open the Console and read the last lines. The metadata inside all three builds asks for GlitchCore 26.3.0.0.1 or newer and TerraBlender 26.3.0.0.6 or newer, so a missing or older library is the usual cause. Fix mod and plugin errors on Minecraft covers reading the log.
- BOP doesn't appear in the search: the Game version filter starts on your server's version. If BOP has no build for it, the results come back empty.
- Players can't join: compare their mod list against yours, including the libraries.
